Welcome to Sienna Stables,the
prestigious riding stable of many successful
competitors. Students dream of going to
Sienna Stables, but, alas, the equestrian
center is very picky with whom it chooses.
However, this year, the owner of Sienna,
Mr. Park, has opened up a summer program;
eight teenagers, all of them familiar with
competition, have been selected to
participate in the program. Each student will
arrive at Sienna and receive two horses―one
of which is trained and ready to compete, and
the other of which has had no training
whatsoever. The students must train their
horses by the end of the program while also
competing at various events. Whoever fails
will not return to Sienna Stables. The most
successful students, however, will be
coming back next summer for a new
set of horses.

rules;

→ cs rules these rules should, of course, be followed at all times.
→ respect please respect your fellow roleplayers at all times.
→ literacy as this is a literate/semi-literate roleplay, at least three lines per post are expected. the more, the better.
→ realism please try to be realistic while roleplaying. all characters will face some form of problem during the roleplay (whether it is mental or physical, you can decide).
→ drama drama is necessary to all enjoyable roleplays, but please try not to overdo it!
→ characters oc's only, please. no canon characters. additionally, please make your characters between 17 and 20 years of age.
→ horses you can pick your own trained horse, but i will be assigning untrained horses. (note; please do not argue over who gets what horse. only one student per horse. there are eight trained horses and eight students. make it work. also, if you pm me about a certain untrained horse, i may or may not assign it to you. you may reserve a trained horse if you would like. just pm me.)
→ consistency please do not join the roleplay and then quit. there are a limited number of spaces available, so do not take up a space and then leave.
→ forms please post all character forms and ooc discussions on the discussion thread
→ events the events available to compete in are show jumping, eventing, dressage, and cross country. each of the trained horses has their specialty, though they may be trained to participate in another event.
→ power-playing please do not powerplay. the students will lose competitions. don't make them first in every event.
→ number of horses your character may only have the two horses given to them by sienna stables.
→ number of characters you may only roleplay as one character, as again, there are limited spots.
→ lgbt+ this is an lgbt+ friendly roleplay so, please, no disrespect at any time.
→ originality please no mary or gary sues.

the tour;

The equestrian center's main building is fairly large, housing their trophy rooms and lobby. The students will be staying in separate cabins, one for each of them. The main paddock is a large, grassy field for horses to roam. There are smaller, seperate paddocks for unfriendly or spooked horses. There's a fairly large practice jumping arena, along with a massive covered dressage practice area. Along the entire property, there's a path used to practice cross-country racing. Makeshift hurdles around the center allow students to practice eventing.

The main stables are for the trained horses, who, for the most part, get along with each other. There are smaller, separate stables for untrained horses. Outdoor stables allow horses to enjoy the weather when it's nice.

There are both indoor and outdoor grooming stations for students to use.

jack brushed down siren's flank with a thick-bristled wooden brush. she was a very docile mare, not difficult to approach and halter. jack had been at the outdoor grooming station for a little over an hour, washing and now brushing the mare. not long ago, the stable manager, mr. park, had approached jack, informing him that he needed to be at the main paddock at two o'clock sharp for some kind of special greeting. glancing at the clock on the wall, jack froze, the hands at 1:54p.m.

quickly, he ushered siren from the station, jogging with her to her outside stall where he led her in lightly. patting her nose and ensuring that the door was shut and locked, jack looked again at one of the clocks that littered the walls here at sienna stables. 1:57p.m., the clock seemed to taunt him. the boy sped up into a run, barely managing to make it to the main paddock as the clock hit two.

the stable manager stood there, waiting for the students to gather. he looked slightly disapprovingly at jack for being almost-late, but said nothing.

Quite a while ago, Rhett had been informed of a meeting. He had thought, at the time, that this would be fine. He'd catch his new horse and get to know her, then go to the meeting. It wasn't half as easy as he expected. His new mare was a pretty paint, eye catching in her color and build. However, apparently she was the devil herself in horse form. Rhett was told they'd be receiving two horses, one of which was untrained. He was beginning to wonder if perhaps they'd given him the wrong horse.

Rhett was out in the pasture, halter and lead rope in hand. Bumble was several feet away, seemingly grazing happily. However, Rhett had learned from the past twenty five minutes that the minute he approached the mare, she'd dance away with a smug look on her face. The boy had tried everything - bribery, food, trickery. Nothing seemed to work. A quick glance at his phone showed him it was 1:45. With a sigh, he made his decision. In the interest of saving time, he would leave off trying to catch the stubborn mare - for now. This conversation was certainly not over in the least. He would catch this paint if it was the last thing he did.

But not right now. He turned, hiking up the halter farther on his shoulder. Giving one last glance at the (apparently) peaceful mare, he wandered off the field. To his surprise, Rhett heard hoofbeats sound behind him. A quick look over his shoulder confirmed that yes, Bumble was following him. Rhet quickly faced forwards again, pretending to completely ignore the mare. The hoofbeats sounded louder, confirming that the paint was trotting to keep up with him. The half-italian boy gave a small smile. So the mare likes attention, he mused. When they finally got to the gate, Bumble was still at Rhett's shoulder. He turned and slipped the halter over her ears with ease.

"You're ridiculous." he told the little mare, but with a smile. She was growing on him more every minute he spent with her.

Rhett decided he would put her in one of the outdoor stalls, in theory making it easier for him to catch her next time. He lead the mare over, marveling at how quietly she walked beside him. She didn't seem to be overly spooky or aggressive, just a little tricky and stubborn. The boy got Bumble settled in the outdoor stall quickly, checking her hay and water levels with a practiced ease. Satisfied with the state of her stall, he hung the halter up beside the door and made his way to the meeting point. A cursory check of the clock informed Rhett he was even a couple minutes early. He joined the group, wondering if this was when they'd receive the untrained horse assignments or if it was some sort of other announcement.

Ally had to admit, she was out of her element. She had not, actually, she had never been in a place that reeked like money as much as Sienna Stables. She found herself hesitating far too much, it felt like everything was too nice to touch, despite it being a stable. Her barn back home was homey.
She had spent the last hour taking care of Lady. She had received the mare's name in her acceptance letter, and she couldn't believe her luck in getting such a gorgeous mare. The mare was wonderful, grooming, brushing, the girl accepted everything with loving nudges. She had just let her out into her field again, and leaned against the fence for a moment to observe the glowing white mare.
She knew the meeting was soon, and there was no way she would be late. The letter had mentioned an important assignment would be given to them, and she wouldn't make a bad impression. She took a deep breath, pushing off of the fence and headed to the meeting area, joining the group shortly before 2.

Alice looked nervously down at her paddock boots. She needed to make a good impression, so finally she left walked outside wearing fresh caramel colored breeches, with a soft cream orange shirt that was a bit longer in the back. Slipping on casual paddock boots outside, she took a deep breath. Alice knew that she could deal with any horse. She wasn't a beginner. Everything would be fine. Checking her watch, she saw that it was 1:42 P.M. Being late was not an option for this meeting. Her blue eyes looking over the stables curiously, but a bit timid. She hoped to get the meeting early, maybe talk to someone..? Anyways, she hurriedly trotted up the driveway and into the stables, slowing. Everything was cool.. Different. Alice would get used to it in a little while. She, after a quick look-around, managed to get to the main paddock by 1:53. Great. She noticed some others, and the stable manager, looking over everyone.
