Horse "N" Rider RP

Skye was soon back.
“How’s the mare, Bella?” She asked.

Bella smiled. "If you count a bit nervous, she's fine." She looked at the mare, happily grazing in the paddock.

“That’s great, Bella!” Skye said, letting Jade into the raised fence paddock.
“I’m getting a fancy black English Thoroughbred, straight from England!” Skye said thoughtfully, “A cheap one, too. Dark Knight, they call her. It is a dream come true! DK and I will be the first-place stars everywhere!”
Skye looked at Jade, who had stopped grazing and who was flicking her ears toward Skye, as if eavesdropping.
“I’ll still ride you, though, girl!” the excited girl told her horse.

Bourbon trotted over to the fence and nickered at Jade. "Hello?"


Bella smiled. "That's amazing!"

Jade just lifted her head, but she did not know what to do!
She had never, ever had any horse say hello first. It was always her, Queen of the Stable, saying Hello first!
Can’t be so bad, Jade thought. Jade wasn’t ready to nicker, yet, but she whinnied.
“Hello! I’m Jade. What’s your name? Can I trust you? How old are you?”
Dozens of questions went through Jade’s mind.

“Funny!” laughed Skye, “Oh, Jade! Did you even see how she responded??”

Bourbon immediately stepped back. She wasn't used to this many questions as she came from a herd who knew each other. "I'm bourbon! You can trust me, but that's up to you. No one really knows who a person is. I'm about five years old, so I am still learning new stuff. The more important question is, can I trust you?"

“Of course you can!” Jade nickered warmly. “There’s another horse here — Aasim. You can trust him, also. And, trust me, you’ll learn to follow everything the humans say – in time.”
Jade returned to her grass-meal.

Bourbon flicked her ears back. "Why should I follow the humans?mthe last ones I followed would've gladly killed me."

“You — Bourbon — look at me. I’ve been here for a-while now and yet am still alive. Those girls don’t even use whips or spurs! I consider myself a living example that not all humans are cruel.” Jade said. “You can trust Skye and Bella.”

Bourbon kept her ears back. "If you expect me to trust one human, you are wrong. They have to prove it themselves." With that, she turned and trotted to the end of the paddock.
