She paused her music and skipped over, holding out her hand for her new cabin mate to shake. "Sorry! I know your name because I looked at the list of members in this cabin... I hope that wasnt too creepy! Anyway, Im Lily! Lily Brooke Thumps," she greeted happily, letting out small laughs in between her words. "Im a singer! Whats your talent?"

Carter thought for a moment, biting her lip. "Well, I play piano and guitar, if that's what you mean." She replied thoughtfully. "Oh! And..." She paused, grinning, for added affect. "I play a mean kazoo." She nodded with one of those I'm-so-bad kind of looks, though she laughed and dropped it after a moment. She could have kept it believable if she wanted to, but what was teh point, anyway? "And it's nice to meet you, of course."

She shook her hand and smiled. "Thats so awesome! I fail epicly at playing any instrument- even kazoo! Ive just got myself some mean vocals. We should play together sometime! In fact, Im not tired at all- wanna do a song now?" She asked excitedly. Shed been longing to sing all day, but she figured she could just burst into song forever. She wanted to show off already! And she wouldnt mind having a wicked awesome and talented cabin mate to brag about, either.

Carter shrugged, though a smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "Yeah, why not?" She walked over and picked up teh case to her guitar, plopping back down on the bed and taking it out. She ran her fingers over the instrument fondly, her mind taking her back to the day her brother finally saved up enough money to buy it for her. Her brother. the memory, no matter how fond, still stabbed her with a new slice of grief every time she remembered. Carter shook her head, trying to clear it. That was a long time and quite a few therepists ago; She had to live in the now. "So, what song? I can sing background vocals too, if you want."

Carter let out a small fangirl-ish squeal. "Can I ever!" She exlaimed, grinning broadly. Her blue eyes sparkled as she looked down at the guitar and played a couple cords to get ahold of the tune. One of her favourite songs, actually. After a moment she paused, her fingers resting on the neck of the guitar posed for teh first cord, and looked back up at Lily. "Ready?" She asked brightly.

The smile on her face grew and she shifted in her seat. "Of course Im ready!" she said happily. New cabin mate passed test number one: good taste in music. She waited for the tune to reach the moment when the lyrics began, and when she started to sing it sounded quite nice. She added a feminine tone to an acoustic rock song, and it sounded good.
