Definitely support from me. Pets such as store pets are very dangerous things to be deleting, since they're never re-released. We already have enough rotting on dead accounts, we don't need any more being lost through methods such as deletion.
I have been threatened with my gifts being deleted after falling outs, so I can confirm it is a pretty real issue, and was also pretty hurtful. With that in mind, people can and will intentionally delete valuable pets if it's with malicious intent. Scammers and ninja traders also delete pets to hide evidence, and all that deleting pets does nowadays is mess with the trading economy.

I support this immensely. It really does hurt the value of pets when some are just deleted.

i'm not sure how i feel on this topic. deleting pets definitely hurts the trading economy. and as it has been said, the deleting pets option isn't really needed anymore.
but, on the other hand, people should be free to do what they want with their pets. trade them, gift them, delete them, whatever.

i honestly think the delete pet option should stay. after all, you should be allowed to do what you please with your pets. they're your's!

I support, in reality the pets aren’t even ours to delete.

They belong to ChickenSmoothie, we’re just players in the game!

Ahh, supported!

I've accidentally deleted pets. I lost a good list thanks to that. But it's fine, there's more to go around, and I'm sure that if I keep trying I'll probably get another one to replace it! :D

I've also seen people delete their good pets, because their quitting. Some newbies could use some new pets, don't delete perfectly fine pets!

I support this!

I wonder how many poor babies have been deleted </3

Edit: I can see how this came off. But I have been a player since '12 and CS has been a big part of my life and the pets became sentimental. I always see them as more than just a virtual pet. So seeing them be deleted and what feels to me like, "throwing them away" is difficult for me.

Okay. This is really weird.

I shouldn't be feeling like this, but now I feel like this thread is just trying to guilt trip people? Which is absolutely absurd because there's no way that's the case! You are all amazing people and of course you all are thinking about helping other players. (This is not meant to be sarcastic. I honestly have no idea how to word this in a way that doesn't coincide with written sarcasm. I really believe you all are great and that you're thinking of others because you guys are great.)

But maybe this feeling signals something? So I'm posting this feeling here.

I personally have no strong feelings either way, really. If the delete button stays, okay. If the delete button goes, okay. No reaction.

But I can understand both sides and right now I'm getting this feeling almost every time I see another support post. This feeling is so strong that I really can't ignore it and now I've posted this. Normally, in other suggestion threads, my reaction to posts is to just nod my head in understanding, and I don't really have stronger reactions unless there's a false assumption or something. But here there are no false assumptions and now I'm having strong feelings when I don't have strong feelings about the suggestion itself? This is weird.

(I hope I don't regret posting this later. I've stopped myself from posting many posts that I would've probably regretted, but I did make some posts that I now regret, and they're not from my cringe-inducing days lol)

edit: My heart is pounding. That's usually a sign I made a mistake posting something lol welp

Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

I can understand the opposing argument, but I support.

As others have said, having the delete button can seriously hurt the store pet
trade economy, true date pets, and has little to no use nowadays aside from
experimental purposes like the artificial rarity project, which honestly not to
offend the user participating, seems to have gone nowhere due to the sheer number of pets
that would have to be deleted. Also if the button is removed, many quitting players
might be more motivated to give away or send their old pets to the pound. Even
though scammers/bullies can be easily thwarted by the victim getting a copy of
the lost pets, the removal of the delete button can be one less method a bully
can use to maliciously emotionally harm someone.

That's understandable, it depends on the person reading. For example, "it's sad to see so many old pets get deleted" to someone could mean that it is, indeed, a sad situation however there was another time when it made sense, so it's understandable. But "it's sad to see so many store pets deleted" feels as if the person stating that is talking directly to someone. I'm feeling the same you are, the almost muttered attack, but truly it just depends on context
