Suggestion: Remove "Delete this pet" option. POLL ADDED

I think it should be kept. It should be the pet owner’s decision on whether or not they would rather delete the pet or give it away. It is not cruel in anyway; they are literally pixels. They are not custom pets; there are multiple copies and for you to say deleting it is like wasting the artist’s work, that is not true. If a user puts tons of effort and time into collecting a pet and then decides they no longer want it, they should have the right to delete it rather than give it away for free. It’s like in real life, you should not be forced to donate, give away, or trade anything. If you spend real life money on C$, buy store pets, decide you no longer want them, and don’t want anyone else to benefit off the money you spent, you should be able to delete them. The delete button should stay and should always be an option!

I also agree that the delete button should go. and I agree that maybe the button itself soulc totally be named to "send to the pound" button.

some time ago I looked at my old trades that included like 50 list pets given from my side, just to see that half of them were deleted, it's really sad that someone decided to delete so many valuable list pets, a lot of which high mains.

as for people saying that you don't want other people benefit off of pets you've purchased, what's the point here really? you can always leave the site and keep pets on your account, they stay there and nobody gets a benefit from them, and I don't even see what's the point of being afraid of other people benefiting off of your pets in the first place. that's a strange thing to be afraid of imo. no need to be so salty.
besides, if that's still a problem, trade it for art, beneficial for both artist and you, artist gets pets, you get art. problem solved again!

After reading the posts in this thread, i can definitely see some good points from both sides.

As I'm seeing it, the list of links on a pet display are arranged like this:

-Add Items to your pet...
-Rename this pet...
-Delete this pet...
-Offer this pet in a trade...


I hope this would be the right place for it, but could i perhaps recommend, at the very least, moving the "delete pet" option to somewhere else on the pets page separate from the current list of links that it's in? Like put it in the bottom right hand corner or something? I have given myself plenty of heart attack moments by accidentally misclicking the delete pet button and then freaking out and smashing my browser's back button as hard as possible! xD

We should keep the button because some users don’t need some pets anymore and it takes too long for the pound to take them.

^The pound only takes about a day or a week to take pets they could give them to the pound, give them away, or just keep them.
It would be a waste to delete a pet that has nice value, and if its a "ugly" pet (which is rude to the artists), someone else may have it as their dream pet. you never know.

this just messes up trading and theres no reason to have a delete button.

absolutely agreed here.
why is it a problem if the Pound sometimes takes a while to accept? nobody can possibly be in such a rush to get rid of a pet. ~week is completely acceptable, I don't see where's the problem.

I think deleting a pet should stay because if you have more than one adult pet of the same outcome, you could just delete many of them to make that pet more rare.

deleting a pet does not affect how rare it is,
if we deleted 10,000 of that pet, it MIGHT. but no.
Just give it away if you dont want it.
somebody might really want that pet and theres no reason to delete a pet.
