How do you obtain Special Release pets?

They go out once a year on Dec. 18th!

Every year during the Christmas advent CS lets everyone adopt 3 random rares from past years, and in the mix they add some pets that never where released. But even then, it's super rare to get one.

Adding to that, there is one type of special release pet that can (and originally is) obtained in a different way as well: Zebras! c:
While zebras can be gotten from the Re-release box, their original method of distribution was through the monthly equine litters.
Every time someone adopts the monthly horses, there is a very, very slim chance to receive one of the three OMG so Rare zebras among them.
They first were released this way in 2009 and were temporarily retired after our old equine artist, equimagine, left the team, but after the zebra lines were revamped in 2013 it was decided to start releasing them once more.
