Does anyone speak/know how to write in Japanese?

Hi, I hope this is the right place for this!

I'm trying out for one of the pets on the adoptable oekaki and in my entry art I'd like to write something like "space" or "astronomy" in Japanese. I would just look up the translations except I want to write them vertically (they are going to be written on kind of this hanging tapestry thing) and it seems like there are some specific rule to writing it vertically that I don't quite understand.

Would anyone mind helping me please? I can give you some cs pets for your efforts if you'd like.
