Not many humans liked him and so eventually he was put in a pound until someone (hopefully me) adopted him and took him home to care for him.

Personality: A card demon who likes to play dirty, he possesses cards to alter games and could have been the reason you had that lucky streak, he's vengeful and sarcastic but has a heart of gold somewhere in his furry demonic body. He's about teenaged for a rat demon and stalks around casinos, being that little voice in your head. Born of a family of "Luck demons" he didn't want to imbue luck on 1 house so he decided to find somewhere public, after nearly getting eaten by a cat and stuck in a thunder storm a bedraggled Aces found the casino he now calls home. He sleeps in his nest inside a broken slot machine and loves to hoard chips. His favorite food is pizza (because he rarely gets it) and I going to work on a Oc for him to be the companion of.
Likes: Pizza!, card games, Egyptian licorice tea, and using his powers.
Dislikes: Surprisedly gambling, old cheese, people trying to play slots in his home, shamrocks and clovers, and rain.
Backstory:
"Awwwww." Ace's mother sighed as she looked down on his tiny face.
"Why's he red?" Piped up one of his siblings.
Born into a family of luck demons, who commonly have white fur and small batlike wings, as well as have a uncontrollable appetite for clovers, Aces was the odd one out.

"Now, this is what you will grow up to do" said the teacher, pointing to an illustration on the white board, "You fly into others houses at night a sprinkle your shamrock powder like this." She flew up a slowly poured the green dust all around the room. "Then the occupants will be lucky!" Aces sighted as he failed yet again to spread the powder out evenly, it was much more easy for him to use his powers to move stuff with his paws and mind, not sprinkle green glitter.

"Anyone want to play cards with me?" Aces asked tentatively, worried everyone would say no. It was worse then that, they all left to go to recess. Aces placed the deck down, shuffling it with his mind, and waiting for the history teacher to come in. Mr.Ash, was strange like Aces, for he was a bad luck demon, and the only one that would play with Aces.

New Home

Aces had decided to leave, he was horrible at imbuing luck, he had barely any friends, and was tired of being looked at weird because of his fur color. So he started to leave. He walked for days intill he reached the city. That's when the rain started. It started with just a gentle trickle of rain, then thunder and lightening. He quickly crawled under a bush to rest, he woke up as quickly as he fell asleep, startled by the sound of a cat's mews. Wait... A cat! Aces ran, the grey tabby in quick persute.


Why I want him: I love rats and absolutely fell in love with this buds design and instantly found a story for him.

Username: Greetings! I'm crutchie_, but you can just call me Crutch. You may know me as » Asterous «, but I changed my username a few months ago. I have adopted two kiddos from here, Scarlett and Minka.

Why am I interested?: I have been wanting to do something with Morris since Dove owned the adoption center. He originally started out as a member of the Arsenal gang, but I decided that I wanted him to have a bigger role. His design is also something I absolutely adore! Natural colors and designs are one of my favorite things on a character. I also love heterochromia, so it was unlikely that I wasn't going to try and win him.

What will he be used for?: Morris will become one of my many, many, many characters that receive both art and affection. I will admit that lately my creativity has gone down the drain and I haven't been drawing as much because of school, but I'm confident that that'll change in the following months. Fingers are crossed!

Personality:

Desptite the notion that the gang leader is the most merciless member of a gang, Morris is actually the most mellow. He made a vow that if he was going to be Axer, he would do things his way-not his father's. He is a very compassionate little dog who is always logical in his descisions. In his mind, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Morris is also the most least likely to fight. Pain is horrible and Morris will do everything to avoid it and avoid giving it to others. In other words, he's a pacifist. Others translate this into cowardess, but Morris lets them believe what they want. He wouldn't call them out or try to make an example. Instead of gaining obedience by fear, Morris elects to use mercy instead. Another thing to note about Morris is his intelligence. While he may not be completely "street-smart", he is the perfect balance between that and book smart. He uses logic and reason to solve problems that he experiences while out.

One of Morris's biggest flaws is his hesitance. Important questions and decisionss scare him to no end and he often turns to Artemis for help. Being pressured to make things happen often makes him freak out. This is especially harmful if it is an important spur of the moment decision that could have severe consequences. During his first year of being Axer, he actually threw up once because he was overwhelmed by the amount of responsibility he now had. Morris is also very defensive, especially when it comes to his father. He respeacts his father and will do whatever it takes to make sure that his memory remains clean. This has lead to several conflicts with the Arsenals, whose leader, Ringo, has a tendabcy to slander his father whenever he gets the chance. It is one instance that Morris will not excuse.

History:

Morris was not born into the life he knows today. He was born in a small Brooklyn apartment to a teacher and a dishwasher. Family life was good for him. His mother taught him how to play piano and his father taught him Spanish. He was closer with his father than with his mother, but he loved them both equally. It is good to mention here that Morris's father was not from Brooklyn and was not all that he seemed. Originally from Manhattan, Milligan Vaskas was second in command to Axer, the leader of a gang that would later be called the Hawks. However he left that life after his wife announced her pregnancy and dedicated himself to raising his child away from the streets he had once prowled. Rosie Vaskas loved her husband, but she knew that the peace wouldn't last forever. Nevertheless, both parents focoused on their pup and life was good - for a while.

When Morris was about ten, a husky by the name of Bones showed up at their door and told them that the old Axer had died and had named Milligan the next Axer. At the time, Morris did not understand what was happening. This situation was new to him. His father, fueled by his loyalty, accepted the call. His mother was furious and after a few weeks of bitter fighting, they divorced. His mother did not show up for the custody hearing, so Morris ultimately went with his father back to Manhattan. There he was introduced to the gang he would come to inherit. His father also took a turn and became cold and distant in the years that followed. Adjusting to life as a Hawk was not easy for Morris. He had always been reserved and shied away from conflict so learning the ropes of the gang proved to be a challenge. Reluctantly he trained with his dad and met the other members and tried his best to impress them. Many laughed at him but shut up once his father heard about it. The one thing that did come out of this experience was his friendship with Artemis. The optimistic lioness was the first to greet him when he arrived in Manhattan and was his main tutor. She also became his best friend and confidant when he needed one.

At 14, Morris has settled into his new life quite well. He had his father, a new place, and a new family. He would spend his days relaying information from one Hawk to the next and keeping tabs on all the other gangs that roamed the Manhattan streets. One day, Morris was jumped by a few members of the Hawks' biggest rival that would be named the Arsenals. They roughed him up and stole his bag. When Milligan, or now Axer, heard about what had happened he was absolutely furious. He went into Arsenal turf and challenged Ringo to a fight. Milligan forbade his son from attending the fight, but Morris was not going to be left behind. The fight took place in the neutral South side and it was the most terrifying night of Morris, and his father's, life. Ringo, the leader of the gang, was a huge Rottweiler that towered over most of his members. A few years later, Morris would realize that the big-eared kid with the gold collar was the Ringo that he knew. In the end, Morris watched his father slaughter the other dog in cold blood.

After that day, Morris became distant from his father and stayed away from the gang all together. He spent his time reading and writing letters to his mother back in Brooklyn. A few weeks later, his father became gravely ill. They didn't have the means for medicine, so it was just a waiting game. A month after Morris turned fifteen, Milligan Vaskas passed away and told his son that the title of Axer was being passed down to him. Morris was in shock, both because of the death and the burden he had just been handed. It was almost too much for him to handle. His mother offered to take him back to Brooklyn with her, and gosh he wanted to, but he was too loyal to his father to leave the Hawks without a leader. Thankfully, Artemis's parents room him in so he wasn't completely alone.

Now about nineteen years old, Morris Vaskas is now Axer, leader of the gang known as the Hawks. With the help of his second, Artemis, he aims to help his neighborhood and keep the peace on the East side. Unlike his father, he tries to keep away from conflict with the other gangs to the North and West. Even now, he dreams about leaving the gang and becoming a cop to help keep his city safe. But for now, he wears the title of Axer with pride in memory of his father.

She was very strict with her son, only because she wanted him to have someone to talk to - something she never had. She has never said why she didn't fight for custody of her son, but continues to stay in touch with him.
