Prologue:
Jealousy can get the best of people, no matter who they are, it can make them do crazy things and even be urged to hurt the one they are jealous of, but the real question is, can people change once jealousy has consumed them?.

"Rise"
a voice bellowed, the leader, Phoenix, standing tall on a rock,
"As you all know, Aphrodite has decided not to take on her role of being heir",
I could hear whispers from behind, I averted my gaze to my left where Kleo was sitting, listening to their grandfather's every word, on my right was Clara Lilium, a well known member of the pack, she had a mate and a adopted child who she loved very dearly, in all honesty I envied her, she had the one I had a crush on and had for a long time, she had a life I wanted to be loved for who I was, sometimes i got caught giving her evil glares then I get told to shove off, which I don't since she’s the only thing preventing me from what I want, Bella, Cynder, Bleu and Valentine were sitting in the row behind and Drax as usual was beside Clara,
"On my daughter's behalf, I will now pronounce the new soon to be heir",
compete silence was around me, none of us said a word,
"Clara Lilium, please step forward",
she did as asked, Foxy came in and placed a golden crown on her head with blue jewels, everyone was watching intently,
"Everyone, this is your new heir, Clara Lilium",
everyone but I bowed, I was fuming, her crown sparkling in the sunlight, her pink coat glowing, Foxy approaching her again to give her more clothing, I couldn't tell what it was but it suited her very well, my mouth dropping more and more to the floor as everyone else rose, they all looked at me as if i was crazy, Drax watching my every move, it was as if he knew what I was thinking without me thinking it, his face slowly turned to a snarl, which Clara stopped as soon as she noticed it, which made me even more angry, I turned and I walked back to my den, the air was cold, the water that dripped from the roof was the only sound, complete utter silence as I gathered my thoughts, I knew this had to be wrong, she did not deserve this for sure, it was always meant to be me, I stomped my foot angrily, I snorted, Clara's name on repeat in my mind, but I had a perfect plan and it's about time Clara got a taste of revenge, an evil grin formed on my face, this is what I had been waiting for.

"Oh Bleuuuu",
I said walking into her den, it was much warmer than my own,
"What do you want Tia",
the young blue viscet approached her with an annoyed tone,
"Oh, i’m simply looking for revenge",
I said while circling her, her eyes lit up,
"On whom exactly",
she said with an evil smile,
"Only on little miss two shoes, Clara Lilium",
"Ahh the new heir I see, what do you have in mind?",
I smiled and whispered my plan to her, her smile growing wider and wider with every word. I exited Bleus den without a single word, Clara and Drax were side by side as usual watching their daughter play around, I had never bothered to meet her, so I didn't know her name, I eyed Drax from a distance, I couldn't really bring myself to look away, not that I tried to or anything, but then Clara’s eyes met mine, reading me like a book, her posture changing completely, she didn't growl, nor did she snarl she just looked at me, as if to try to get into my head, her eyes never left mine, but I could feel her rage flowing through me, without looking away she started to speak,
“Hope, go with dad to the den, now”,
She did as asked, but Drax was concerned I could tell, but he didn't stop her, his eyes also met mine, making butterflies form in my tummy, but shattered when he shook his head and led Hope to the den, when they left, no word came out of Clara's mouth, without warning she approached me in an intimidating matter,
“Why can't you keep your eyes off him”,
She said anger rising in her voice,
“Oh , you mean the one that's meant to be with me, not you?”,
Her teeth started to show, laughing as she spoke,
“Why are you laughing?”,
“Oh, it's nothing Tia, you just better watch your back”,
“Mum!!!”,
Clara's ears perked up,
“This isn't over, Tia, mark my words”,
She turned and ran towards her den, I watched her as she vanished from sight, her words didn't intimidate me in the slightest, they were empty and I knew it, she was to weak for that, I smiled, with a bounce in my step I walked to the entrance of the cave and lay on a rock.


"Beautiful out here isn't it",
I jumped and turned,
"Dont scare me like that Drax!",
The butterflies came back, he turned to look at me,
“You're never going to understand are you Tia?”,
“W-what are you on about?”,
“That your feelings for me are fake”,
“Th-they're not, I know what I feel, Clara shouldn't be in the middle of us…”,
He snarled,
“Get your head out of the clouds Tia!, I will never be with you!”,
“B-but why?..”,
He got into a menacing position, Hope ran out and looked at me, fear filling her eyes, which made me flare up, my teeth started to emerge, I was snarling back at him with my claws digging into the earth, Hope hid behind him, shaking furiously, he stayed planted where he was, not moving an inch, his eyes were fixated on me, I knew he wouldn't back down so easily, but neither would I,
“That's a dumb question coming from you”,
He said bitterly,
“What, you don't got goodie two shoes to protect you now?”,
I said in a smart tone, obviously angering him more,
“Don't you dare call her that”,
I laughed,
“What are you going to do about it?”,
I replied in a smart tone, he tried to swing at me, but I dodged it, that sent Hope running, he began to circle me, which i'm assuming was supposed to scare me,
“Whats going on?”,
Clara was standing there with Hope close to her,
“Drax?”,
He looked at her and lowered his head, she was acting completely innocent and that really angered me, she looked at me in such a way to say what she had said earlier “Watch your back”, I walked up to her, the rage burning inside me, I swiped her across the face, Clara's left paw immediately covered where I had struck, Drax bowled me over and pinned me to the ground, his eyes were full of hate, something I had never seen from him before, no one had, Clara used her tail to tap him, he looked down at me one last time and held back on what he was planning to do to me, Clara was still covering her face,
“Hope come on”,
Hope followed her closely, Drax followed, I smiled, I had done it, I finally got a piece of revenge on Clara, my vision faded, I fell and hit the ground.

My eyes were a blur as I blinked multiple times, some sort of cuffs were around my two front paws,
"Wh-what happened?",
I looked around, no one else in sight, the metal bars surrounding me, the sound of paw pads against the concrete alerting me, it was Kleo,
"Shame on you Tia",
I eyed him,
“Do not speak to me”,
I said turning my back, he walked away, what hit me on the head?, I rubbed my temple where I was hit, It throbbed a whole lot, I knew exactly what was going to happen, I was going to be on trial, silence was filling the air as quick as guilt consumed me, tomorrow is a new day, I told myself as I lay on the hanging straw bed, tomorrow is a new day, I slowly closed my eyes.

The sun rose, Cynder was already outside my cell as I awoke,
"Phoenix wishes to see you now",
I went out in front of her, her following close behind, Phoenix standing on a rock, Clara and Drax close together on the right of the rock, the child in between them, Clara's paw always against her face, everyone was watching me, I liked the attention but, not for this reason,
"Tia, do you know what crime you have committed?",
Clara had given me the most evil glare that rocked me to my core,
“Yes sir, I do, but it is indeed Clara's fault that this has happened I-”,
“Enough!”,
Phoenix yelled silencing everyone,
"There's only one consequence for this action, which I am assuming you are aware of, Tia”
“Sir im telling you it's not my fault and-”
The words were jumbled in my head, so I zipped my mouth shut,
“Tia, you are guilty of this aren't you?”,
“No! I swear i'm not sir, please”,
“Tia, you're guilty of a violent assault and sentenced to exile”,
Complete utter silence, no sound, the silence dragged on for a long while,
“You may go, Tia”,
Cynder escorted me back to my cell,
“You are going to be escorted out in the morning, goodnight Tia”,
She left in silence.

I woke up to the dripping of water droplets on my head,
"So, i'm guessing you still want me to continue our plan, Tia",
I turned to see Bleu outside the cell,
“More than ever Bleu, more than ever Bleu”,
She nodded and left, I wanted the plan to go on, Clara deserved every bit of it, she deserved to be hurt, she deserved nothing, I lay on the straw bed and faced the wall, slowly my eyes closed, I was immediately lost in my dream realm until the sound of a key turning in a lock awoken me, there stood Drax,
"I'm here to escort you out",
The aggression in his voice was very vivid, I got up and walked toward him, deciding not to speak to him no matter how my feelings were,
"I hope you regret what you have done",
he snarled, I kept my head low to the ground as the silver chains dragged behind me, everyone in the pack was eyeing me, although I didn't look up, I could tell, Drax close behind me intently watching my every move until we approached the den entrance, he unlocked my chains, letting me go free, I looked at him, hoping his aggression toward me would soften, but it was no use, it stung a whole lot, his face stayed the same, Clara came and stood beside him and nuzzled him, making it very apparent to me that I was not wanted so I ran and ran to get far away, I looked back sometimes, seeing them all go to their own dens, so I was assuming, my head full to the brim with thoughts and urges to go back, my anger diminished to sadness, an overwhelming sadness.

The air was getting colder and colder every step I took, the loneliness had really hit me awhile back, I knew they wouldn't forgive me for what I had done, it felt good that I hurt Clara..., why would I get exiled for something as little as that?, the only family I had was gone, I sighed deeply, why..., I sat down staring at the ground tears filled my eyes making it hard to see, my fur blowing in the wind, the icy breeze freezing my skin, my breathe was slowly turning into mist, regret and guilt slowly swallowing me, like I was drowning beneath water, the sun was beginning to set, the colorful sky resembling a new night sending itself and others to a deep slumber. The air began to smell heavily of ash, smoke began to make the smoke more dense and heavy, I looked behind me, something in the distance was making black smoke, I knew at that moment I had to change, I had to help the ones in need, before I knew it, I was already running toward the fire.

"Oh no, oh no no no",
I shielded my eyes and tears began to fall,
"What are you doing back here?",
I looked up, Clara was coming toward me, a scar still present under her left eye where I had struck her, "I saw the fire and-and",
I said looking around awkwardly,
"No one would have expected you to come back after your actions”,
“Clara I am sincerely sorry, but it looks like it's getting better”,
She rubbed the scar a little,
“Yeah, I guess, i'm more worried about everyone else”,
She said looking down,
“Where are they?”,
Tears began to form in her eyes,
“They're all trapped…”,
She growled suddenly,
“But why would you care!, you only care about ruining my life!”,
“Clara, I am sorry”,
“I don't believe you, my family could be gone…, that probably makes you happy...”
The tears were streaming down her face, what had I done, this is all my fault, her head was lowered,
“Clara I-”,
I didn't know what to say to her… I could have murdered her family, her young daughter…, I did this to hurt her, I didn't want to hurt anyone…,
“Tia, i'm sorry for what I did to you… I really am… if everyone survives this… Ill leave…”,
“Clara, no, you are worthy of the leadership, we need you, Drax and Hope need you”,
She looked up and gave me a brief smile and wiped her tears,
“Ok, let's do this”,
She hugged me,
“Thank you Tia”,
I nodded, it felt good to say that,
“I've been trying to get into the living room with little success, but i'm glad you came to help”,
“Ok”
My eyes darted around I frantically looked for an entrance to the den, without thinking I ran and jumped over a slowly rising small flame, the heat was quickly making me sweat and increasingly hard to breathe, the black smoke partially blocked my vision, Clara came up behind me, she tried to breathe normally, my lungs slowly filling with smoke, We both looked around, the living room clearly unstable, I covered my eyes and approached the room, all of them, unconscious, it was the worst sight for me to see or anyone for that matter,
"Phoenix, Vale, Foxy, Kleo, Aphrodite.... Hope, Bella, Drax.... Cynder, Comet.... Bleu.... wait, where's Bleu?!",
then it hit me, I knew I had to get everyone out from what I had caused, the pond, that's it!,
"Clara we need to get to the pond and fill buckets!",
"On it!",
not a second later, she was back with a bucket,
"Spill it over the entrance!",
I yelled frantically, a few minutes later she came back and nodded, we entered the living room cautiously, the roof being partially burnt off it was a real danger zone, we both lifted one at a time onto our backs and made our way out.

----A few months later----

The birds were chirping as I arose from my slumber, it was the first decent sleep I had since the fire, since then, Bleu was nowhere to be found, maybe she ran away or something? realistically , knowing her, she could be anywhere or in just a obvious place we haven't looked, Foxy missed her a lot, though she was extremely troublesome, but the secret kept getting increasingly more difficult to keep hidden, I felt awful, it was all my fault, a head poked around the corner of my den, Valentine,
“You ok Tia?”,
“I'm fine Vale, why d’you ask?”,
“Oh, no reason, just wondering is all”,
I knew that look, something else was bothering her, it was apparent because of her body language, she was shaking and rubbing her shoulder,
“Are you sure?”,
“Yes Tia, i'm very sure”,
I tried to read her face with little success,
“Alright then, shall we go see the others?”,
She nodded her head and proceeded to walk, I followed her.

Everyone was sitting at the long widespread table in the living room, the table had a glossy marble presented on the top, Vale and I made our way to two empty seats that were side by side and we sat down, I tried to avoid eye contact with Drax and at all costs, but Hope had grown up a lot since I last saw her, after me and Clara extinguished the fire I had left for a month and Phoenix had called me to come back, late last night yesterday, for some strange reason, she had a crown like Clara but it had red square jewels unlike clara's blue oval like ones, she was quite beautiful, she kept looking at me for some reason, but I managed to avoid her gaze aswell, Phoenix stood up, his gaze going from Clara to me, me to Clara, he whispered something to Foxy, he then got up and left, this was a strange act, even for Phoenix, he would never keep secrets from us,
“Whats going on?’,
Hope said curiously,
“Yeah”,
Bella piped up, Kleo fixed their eyes on Phoenix’s every move, Cynder and Drax doing the same, Clara was looking down, her eyes fixated on her lap, Aphrodite stood up and walked over to her father's side,
“Looks like she knows what's going on”,
Vale whispered into my right ear,
“No kidding”,
I whispered in reply,
“I'm going to see what's up with Clara, you gonna be ok?”,
“Yeah, i'll be fine”,
I walked over to Clara and tapped her shoulder,
“You ok?”,
“Not really no but, not much I can do”,
I had noticed Drax wasn't next to her, but near his mother instead,
“Why is Drax over there?”,
“Nevermind that”,
I sat down beside her, Hope was on her right,
“Hey, thanks for everything”,
She looked up at me and smiled, I could see Drax watching us out of the corner of my eye, Clara looked back at him, her eyes narrowing,
“Whats up with him Clara”,
“You, but i'm handling it”,
“Is that why hes-”,
“Yup”,
“Oh, sorry I hurt you guys”,
“Hurt me?, you risked your life to save my family”,
“So did you”,
She laughed,
“Touche”,
Hope looked over at us and smiled, Drax was silent and never spoke a word, id never seen Clara so happy, without Drax, it was kind of strange,
“Hey Tia”,
“Yeah?”,
I looked at Clara with my head tilted,
“Me and Hope have something for you”,
“Oh?”,
“Follow us”,
All three of us got up and I followed their lead, they led me to their den, we heard a deep growl and turned,
“What are you doing in here Tia”,
“Drax I-I mean no harm”,
Clara went out in front of me and growled,
“What is up with you Drax”,
He didn't reply, he stared at Hope, the fear in her eyes chilling him, he got back up and stared at the ground, Clara followed,
“Sorry Tia”,
Hearing that blew me away,
“It's fine, I-I understand what I did was wrong”,
He looked up,
“It's alright, I just can't get over that fact that you hurt Clara”,
I didn't say anything after that, I had nothing to say, there wasn't really anyway to apologize for that, but no one would keep a grudge on me for past mistakes right?, I can't expect them to but it should still be possible,
“Dad, Tia is our friend now, we wouldn't be alive because of her”,
Drax walked up and hugged Hope, Clara looked at him, he looked at her aswell but her gaze shifted to me, Drax looked like he didn't necessarily like that,
“Thank you Tia”,
Hope said walking toward me, bowing to me,
“It's the least I could do, trust me”,
Both Clara and Hope smiled at me, making me beam a little, Drax didn't really show much emotion at this point, mother and daughter walked out of the den and I followed, everyone except us, Drax and Phoenix were still seated at the marble table, the marble table now had some pohutukawa flowers present in vases decorated with some sparkling emerald jewels,
“Tia”,
Phoenix looked at me, I walked toward him
“Are you feeling well?”,
“I am sir”,
“Good”,
A brief silence consumed us, he walked into the den built inside the rock where him and Cynder stay, he emerged from the darkness with something, I couldn't clearly see it but as he came closer, it was clear what it was, Clara came onto the rock and stood beside me, Phoenix handed the crown to her, then she placed it upon my head,
“I had been talking to Hope you see”,
She said finally,
“Yeah, about what?”,
“You’ll see”,
I looked at her trying to read her expression, nothing, Clara placed silk around my shoulders while Foxy placed gold bracelets around my tail, Clara and Foxy then stood to my side, she cleared her throat,
“Everyone”,
Silence as the word escaped her mouth,
“Me and Hope had been talking-”,
I don't know why but my heart was pounding, although I didn't know what was happening,
“We would like to announce that after my running as leader, Tia, will be next in line”,
Vale started cheering and everyone else followed, I was so happy and confused at the same time, was not at all what I was expecting to happen, Hope and Vale came up upon the rock, I hugged both Clara and Hope, Vale was smiling ear to ear, she was so happy for me, I could tell, I couldn't believe that I was given this honor by Clara over her daughter, I was both thankful and kind of guilty for stealing Hopes future position but I was really amazed and honored but I had no words, I was completely tongue tied, but I couldn't help but smile, I had gotten what I had dreamed of, to be loved for who I was.

Prologue:
After the coronation of Tia, the new heir after Clara's running, Drax had decided to leave for the pack's own good, Leaving his mate heartbroken, but she is bearing a secret that no one knows, but when one request is made to keep it a secret, who will they betray? Drax or Clara?, will she lose her best friend in the process?



---Tias p.o.v

Today was the day, the day Drax would leave to form a group, it was dark, the air sending a chill all around, some were walking up to him sending their farewells, Vectis wouldn't leave his side, the two got along a lot then anyone would’ve expected, Hope wanted to cry and I knew it, but she didn't, me and Valentine had already said our farewell and were watching, Bleu had returned from last we saw her, she was much nicer now which everyone thought was strange,
“Hey Tia”,
She whispered
“Yeah Vale?”,
“I counted and there is only 12 of us here, someone's missing”,
“Missing? Who would be missing?”,
“I don't know, it’s pretty strange”,
“That it is Vale”,
I was heavily confused, who wouldn't be here?, so I started saying who I saw in my head, “Vectis, Aphrodite, Kleo, Bella, Phoenix, Foxy, Bleu, Hope, Cynder, Comet, Valentine, Clara, wait… I counted each viscet I saw just to be sure,
I turned to Vale,
“I know who’s missing”,
“Who?”,
She replied, her eyes widening,
“Clara”,
“That doesn't make any sense”,
“I know, but the pair of them haven't really been getting along at all lately”,
“That's true, maybe we should check on her?”,
“Yeah, lets”,
We both walked through the crowd toward Clara’s den, she lay there on her bed in silence, the air in her den even colder than the air outside it made me shiver, she didn't even bother trying to make eye contact with us,
“Has he left yet?’,
She murmured, me and Vale looked at each other then back at her, her head still facing the ground,
“Why d’you ask?”,
I said walking toward her,
“I have my reasons”,
Her voice echoed through the den like a broken record, there was a sudden bitterness in her voice,
“I thought you'd be out there with everyone else”,
Vale said finally,
“Doesn't matter does it”,
She shook her head,
“Clara, this isn't like you”,
I said concerned,
“What does it matter?”,
She stood up and looked at me,
“Were worried about you”,
Vale said looking at her,
“I am capable of looking after myself, now that I have to more than ever”,
“What are you saying?”,
I looked at her confused,
“When he has left, in the morning come and talk to me, Tia, i'd rather speak in private, my apologies Vale”,
“It's alright Clara”,
She said letting herself out, I followed her lead.

The sun rose, the den was lively with sounds, birds chirping, the young kids playing around in the sunshine, Kleo being a comedian as usual, I skipped the traffic and headed to Clara's den, she hadn't really moved from the position she was in originally from when me and Vale were here,
“Take a seat Tia”,
I did as instructed,
“Do you promise not to tell anyone”,
“I do”,
I replied, Clara sighed as she began to spoke,
“You wanted to know why I wasn't around last night correct?”,
“Correct”,
I said quickly, she moved her tail slightly over her belly,
“When he left last night, there was a reason I wasn't there, I couldn't even bare to look at him”,
“Why?”,
“I'm pregnant that's why and he's left me to raise the child alone”,
My mouth hit the floor,
“Why would he do that, does he care?”,
“He does, I know he does but, I don't know if I can handle it, it's hard enough without him being around”,
“I understand that, motherhood is no joke, but Hope?”,
“She is aware she is adopted, its just different when it's your own, doesn't mean I love her any less”,
“Is it his?”,
“Of course it is, what do you take me for!”,
“Then why would he leave?”,
“I understand why he left, to protect all of us, but it's going to be hard to raise it on my own at least until he comes back, if he does”,
“Didn't he want a child with you?”,
“He did, but I haven't told him...since he is gone to protect us I didn't want to tell him, at least, not yet”,
“Clara, he deserves to know, its his baby too”,
“I know, but he seemed so determined… I didn't want to give him a reason to stay…”
“Clara, this isn't right”
“I know, promise me you won't tell anyone until I tell Drax when he eventually returns?”,
I was extremely hesitant, I didn't want to betray Drax but I didn't want to hurt Clara, who is my best friend, she was the first friend I had after what I had done that betrayed everyone, I didn't know what to do,
“Clara, I don't want to betray him”,
“Im aware, but please”,
I looked at her, she really needed my help, I could tell I was the only person she would trust with this secret,
“Ok, i'll do it, but you have to promise you’ll tell him as soon as he returns?”,
“I do, it was a mistake not telling him in the first place, thanks Tia, where would I be without you”,
“In a ditch crying for help”,
We both laughed,
“Hey, ill help you with the baby if need be”,
“Really? That’d be amazing”,
“It'd be a honor”,
I bowed and Clara laughed,
“No need to do that”,
“I know”,
We both laughed again,
“Im sure Hope and Vale will help too”,
“You guys are too good to me, y’know that”,
“Don't mention it”,
“Hey, when this little ratbag is born, would you like to be the godmother?”,
“I would love to holy heck”,
“Then its settled”,
She smiled at me, I had a slight fuzzy feeling in my stomach, I walked out of her den happier than ever.

---A few days later---

I walked into Clara’s den coming to check on her, she was standing up for the first time in a week or so, she looked tired, though she looked like she seemed to be hiding something, she turned to look at me, she must've heard me coming,
“Hey Tia”,
“Good morning Clara, looks like you hadn't got much sleep”,
“In all honesty no, but i'm happy that it's over”,
“What is?”,
As the words escaped my mouth she moved to the right, there lay the most beautiful egg I had ever seen, I walked up to the egg and stroked a paw over his shell, I was very gentle since the shell was soft and weak, it had a mixture of both Clara’s and Drax’s colors, it was quite mesmerizing to say the least,
“Clara, its beautiful”,
“I know, I am very proud”,
She said yawning,
“Hey, ill babysit while you get some sleep, I'll bring food for when you awake”,
“I can't ask you to do that”,
“It's fine, trust me”,
She was still a bit hesitant, I could tell, her motherly instincts must've been heightened since it took her awhile to respond
“Thanks so much”,
I nodded, she walked around then lay on her bed and was asleep almost instantly, I wouldn't let my eyes wander from the eggs place, it lay on a nest made out of straw, pre prepared for its arrival, she must've really trusted me to look after the unborn baby, it wasn’t what I expected what so ever, I didn't think she would let me, it was a complete shot in the dark but wow did it pay off, whatever was inside the egg was sure to be the most amazing little thing anyone would see, she did move a bit in her sleep, obviously uncomfortable, so I put a blanket over her, she settled down quickly after that and smiled in her sleep, my eyes would shift from the egg to the entrance of the den, I didn't want to let Clara down.

Tia, was one of the few people I would actually trust with my child, the others being Drax and Hope, I was really thankful for all she had done for me, it's crazy how we went from great enemies to best friends, she did seem very sincere about wanting to be in the baby's life, letting her be the godmother was the very least I could do for her, she has changed a lot throughout the months, honestly I never thought she would change, I thought she’d always have a crush on Drax, but I was wrong, I can tell her and the baby will get along quite nicely, my only concern right now is Drax and that he’s not here to see the egg at all, I do love him regardless, but realistically, will he want to see the child at all?, I admit it is stupid to think that but there isn't anything else for me to consciously think about, even in the dream realm I can see him, but everytime I do it stings when I awake to him not being there, which I haven't told anyone, it's the main reason I haven't been getting regular nights of sleep, this is a complete confession in my head, talking to myself is the only thing I can seem to do anymore, it keeps me some what sane so I don't go crazy about what life is now, I had a complete other being to look after now, with the help of my friends it just didn't feel the same, it didn't feel like how me and Drax had wanted it to be like in the first place, it was completely different in fact, I did miss him dearly, but there isn't much I can do, I cant go find him, it's too dangerous, he had told me not to follow him, I know it's for the best but I can't just simply not feel the way I do, like, would he be missing me the way I do him? Or is it one sided?, why am I doubting him so much?, it's the main thing i'm doing, doubting the one I shouldn't be doubting, the one that is the father of my child who will love it regardless, who will sooner or later be there for me and the baby, but I don't know if he’ll forgive me...

I awoke, Tia was still there beside the egg, I yawned and she looked at me,
“Had a good dream I presume?”,
“Somewhat yeah”,
She looked at me doubtingly,
“Clara, you can tell me if something's bothering you”,
“I'm fine Tia, just a little sick”,
“You mumble in your sleep, most of I heard”,
She walked up to me and sat down,
“You…. you heard….”,
“I did, my lips are sealed though, are you really doubting him?”,
She placed her paw over my shoulder,
“I guess… mostly because I was stupid for not telling him...”,
Tears were forming in my eyes and I couldn't hold them back, before I knew it I was crying in front of her, she came to my side and hugged me,
“Clara, everyone makes mistakes, I mean, look at me, I sure as heck have made more mistakes then I can count, Drax will surely forgive you”,
“How can you be so sure?”,
I was trying to stop crying but I couldn't,
“Come on, you're Clara, he loves you more then anything else he has, if that doesn't show you, I don't know what will”
I smiled, wiping the tears away I escaped the hug,
“I mean, look at that egg, it's magnificent and one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen, i'm sure he will understand”,
I laughed and beamed a little, she was right about that, whatever was there was surely going to be cute, Tia stood up,
“There's food on the counter for you, I must be going”,
She began walking out,
“Tia, wait”,
Tia turned to look at me,
“Thank you”,
She nodded and left and I started to eat the food that Tia had left for me.

---Tias p.o.v

As I was walking out of Clara's den Vale approached me,
“Where have you been?”,
I immediately got worried and froze up, hoping not to make it obvious that I was hiding something,
“I was playing around with Vectis, y’know because he's been so upset since Drax has left”,
“Oh huh, I'll see you at dinner then”,
“Yeah I'll be there”,
She walked off without another word, it hurt to lie to my best friend, but I had to… to protect Clara and her baby no matter how awful it made me feel, the day quickly went away as I tried to distract myself from the lie I had told to Vale, but it kept repeating in my head, I made my way over to the marble widespread table, Clara was seated on the left whereas Vale was on the right, she was clearly motioning for me to sit next to her, but I kept looking at Clara, she wasn't looking at me, but I could tell she needed me there, so I sat next to her, Vale kept giving me evil stares so I took refuge to looking down at my lap, I could tell that she was still looking at me, more angrier each second then the next.

---Clara’s p.o.v

I could tell what the secret was doing to Tia, it was destroying her strongest friendship, I felt incredibly bad since this is all my fault, but there's not much I can do until he returns that is, every passing second Vales glares got more and more deadly, since Tia was looking down at her lap, they were all aimed at me, I regretted all of this, I could tell Vale, if that'd make it easier on her, but I can't trust her so much as to do that, the last thing I wanted was for it to get out, I had hidden the egg before coming to the dinner table, it was warm and safe where it is, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, I did have an overcoming feeling to check on it, but that'd make me way too suspicious to everyone, keeping secrets is too difficult, for me and Tia, there's only two ways it could make it easier and one I definitely couldn't risk, even if Tia were to look after the baby.

“Hey, Valentine”,
She shot another glare at me,
“Yes Clara?”,
I could tell she was forcing her voice to sound happy,
“Could you do me a favor and meet me at my den after dinner?”,
She hesitated,
“Sure, I guess”,
“Fantastic”,
I said smiling, she countered it, Tia shoved me,
“What on earth do you think you're doing Clara”,
She said with both an angry and scared tone, keeping her voice at a whisper,
“Im telling Vale”,
“No, don't, you know how much of a big mouth she can be at times”,
“Im aware, but i'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and giving her a chance”,
Tia narrowed her eyes at me, her expression staying solid,
“You do know how bad this can turn out if anyone finds out”,
“Dont question my judgement, last time I checked this is my secret and I can tell it to whoever I wish”,
I shot back, my voice filling with frustration, her expression completely blanked, I didn't mean for it to come out that way, I know she was just worried about this whole thing going bust, but in the end this is my secret as I said to her, I can choose who I tell it to.

---Tia’s p.o.v

Clara has to be out of her mind, she's putting the secret in jeopardy, yeah Valentine is my best friend but she is one of the last people I would trust with something as big as this is, its one of her worst traits, although I haven't told her about it sometimes really concerns me about her when I tell her secrets, I had already done it once, let's just say, it was a huge mistake.

“Ok Clara, i'm sorry”.
“It's fine, I get it, you want to protect your godchild”,
“I do, very much so, but are you sure this’ll work”,
“In all honesty, no I don't, but it's better to give her a chance”,
“Yeah I guess, may I come with you two to talk?”,
“You may”,
Foxy came out with everyone's dinner and set it out in front of us, as usual the aspiring chefs food was amazing, no doubt about it, something about his food was always so lovely, every time it was like a new swarm of flavours on your taste buds or something similar, but we never asked what it was, we just ate it, he is the best cook around and everyone in the pack agrees, even Bleu, when we had finished our dinner Vale, Clara and I were excused early with no further questions.

---Clara’s p.o.v
We were the first to leave the table, I led with both Tia and Valentine close behind me neither of us speaking a word, the silence dividing the three of us, every time I peered over my shoulder Tia was growing more and more wary as we got nearer and nearer to the den, I kept my muzzle lowed to the ground, thinking how to say it over and over again, I sighed, pausing and looking at the dens entrance, Tia then took the lead and led Vale inside, I close behind,
“Why is Tia here?”,
Vale said shooting yet another glare at her,
“Because I wish her to be, d’you have a problem with that?”,
I snapped back at her,
“No”,
“Good, now you have to keep your voice down, we don't want anyone else hearing this”,,
“We?”,
Vale looked puzzled,
“Tia is involved in this, hence why she’s here”,
“That explains it”,
Tia walked forward with her ears perked and her eyes fixated on the entrance, I turned, I could tell that Vale was watching me as I was getting the egg out of hiding, with it in my arms I set it down gently, Vale looked at it, never letting her eyes off it,
“Who’s is this?”,
I looked down, the guilt still consuming me every time I saw it,
“Wait - is this why you weren’t there when Drax left?”,
I nodded slowly,
“Did you tell him?”,
She had obviously figured out whose it was, I sighed,
“No I didn't”,
“Clara, that is wrong”,
“I know it is, I’ve been told, but you saw how he was when he thought about fighting, I didn’t want to ruin it”,
“C-c-clara”,
Tia said finally, I followed her gaze only to lower my head and hug the egg closer to me.

---Tia’s p.o.v
Vale turned instantly and stood up,
“Clara?”,
I looked in her direction, she merely winced at the sound of her name being called, he walked toward her cautiously, the other with a coat of black and gold staying put at the entrance, Clara wrapped her tail around the egg deflecting the cold wind,
“Clara?”,
He repeated for a second time edging closer to her,
“It's very rude to eavesdrop on people's conversations”,
He turned and glared at Vale, his eyes narrowing, she froze there and didn’t speak any further words, he carefully edged moved to Clara's side, Clara stayed incredibly still and silent, not a sound came from her, though she was aware of his every movement, he moved his tail to where hers was, causing her to flinch, but she did not lift her head, he attempted to nuzzle her but she didn't react,
“D’you think i'm angry at you?”,
She nodded slowly but resumed her original position, she sniffled a little, Vale and I exchanged multiple glances at one another, she was keeping her eyes on the other most of the time, he lifted her head up with his paw gently and sat down beside her, her eyes filling with tears, I lowered my head and winced, the guilt burning as bad as ever,
“Are you?”,
She said at last, I raised my head as she gently removed her muzzle from his paw and looked back down while moving her paw to the top of the egg and carefully placing the fuzzy blanket back on top of it,
“For you not telling me about it, yes”,
“I-I-I couldn't and you probably heard why…”,
“I did indeed, but you still could’ve told me”,
“I know… but you were so happy and I didn't want to give you a reason to stay…”,
“But you know that you can’t look after a baby on your own”,
She sniffled again, obviously trying to hold back her tears,
“I do… but Tia was going to help me…”,
He looked straight at me but turned back to Clara,
“Can you three leave us alone for awhile”,
Valentine and I exchanged looks and excused ourselves, we couldn't see where the other had went.

---Clara’s p.o.v
I watched Valentine and Tia walk into the distance,
“Clara?”,
My gaze fell from the entrance and onto the egg and sighed,
“Yeah?”,
“Can I see it?”,
I hesitated for awhile,
“I don't know…”,
“Come on, please”,
“Fine”,
I carefully unwrapped my tail from the egg followed by his and wrapped the blanket around it, I gently moved my paws so they were beneath and lifted it up carefully, placing it onto his paws,
“Clara?”,
I looked up to see Tia at the entrance,
“What is it?”,
“You have to see for yourself”,
“Ok, can you look after the egg Drax?”,
“Mhm”,
I stood up,
“Ok, let's go Tia”,
We both left, Tia led while I was close behind, it was apparent to me where she was leading me and as usual it was the two same viscets,
“Uniqua”,
I said narrowing my eyes at her causing her to turn and face me,
“I was just playing with himmm”,
She clearly was lying,
“No you weren’t”,
Vectis replied with a shaking voice,
“Vectis, there you are”,
Bella approached us, obviously concerned,
“Mummy’s boy”,
Uniqua snickered, I swiped my tail at her feet, causing her to fall,
“Uniqua, you're an adult now so start acting like it”,
“It ain't my fault that he’s a weak link”,
“He is not a weak link, just because he has peter pan syndrome doesn’t mean he’s any less then you are”,
She grunted,
“Fine, whatever”,
She sat upright avoiding my gaze,
“Vectis, go with your mother”
He nodded and the pair left, I watched as they faded into the distance,
“Now Uniqua, go to your den”,
She stood up and left hanging her head low, I turned to Tia,
“How're you feeling?”,
“Way less guilty”,
We laughed,
“Hey, thanks for offering to help with the baby”,
“Don't mention it, it's fine, i'm gonna run off and see what Arco’s up to”,
“Alright, you know where to find me”,
She literally ran off to find him and I made my way back to my den.

The sun had set as I made my way back to the den, everything was silent, at least I didn't have to worry about the pack for the time being, but what I had seen shocked me, the pair turned,
“Seems like I'm not the only one who keeps secrets”,
I said bitterly,
“Clara, it isn't what you think”,
“Oh really, then why are you letting someone who I don't even know touch our unborn child!”,
“I can explain…”,
“Don't bother”,
I stormed out, not bothering to look back,
“Clara c'mon, don't be like that”,
Tears formed in my eyes but I kept on going, his voice fading into the distance, until I tripped and fell, the pain slowly consumed my hind leg, footsteps kept coming towards me a few seconds later a paw met my shoulder,
“Clara…”,
“Go back to the place you came! You aren't needed here!”,
The hurt covered his face as soon as the words escaped my mouth,
“I…I”,
“It's ok, it was stupid not to tell you…I have to remember that your protective of the baby and don't want anyone you don't know touch it”,
I rubbed my hind leg while sitting upright, he nuzzled me which I returned,
“Wh-who was that?”,
“I am Raika, commander of legion”
Said the male viscet with a coat of black and variations of gold,
“Well, nice to meet you Raika, you're quite a sneak”,
“Well I learned from the best”,
“Oh hmm”,
I rolled my eyes,
“Excuse me?”,
Drax said eyeing me,
“What, I'm innocent”,
He raised an eyebrow,
“Mhm sure”,
“Well, if you don't mind, I'm going to go to sleep”,
“I'm coming”,
Drax said somewhat excitedly,
“What about you Raika?, where will you stay?”,
“I'll be fine”,
And without further words we went our separate ways.

---Uniqua’s p.o.v
For the life of me I couldn't sleep, like something was preventing me from sleeping, I don't know, I decided to go for a little walk instead, everyone else was asleep, so why not? I thought I was alone, but that was quickly countered,
“And who might you be?”,
The strange viscet turned to face me,
“That is none of your concern young one”,
“Excuse me mister, I most, certainly am not young”,
“So you say”,
I swiped my tail at his feet catching him off guard causing him to fall and I stood over top of him,
“What is your business here”,
“I am here with Drax”,
“Just because you say you're an ally of our leaders mate, doesn't give you any reason to be anywhere near here”,
“The business of me being here is classified, as requested by both the leader and her mate”,
I snarled at the stranger,
“Tell me your business of being here, now!”,
“You're stronger then you look”,
“That's not what I asked of you!”,
“Look kid, I cannot tell you under any circumstances, respect your leaders decision as I will respect mine”,
“Fine”,
I stepped to the side, letting him get back to his feet, his fur was a charcoal black like color accompanied with a gold that flew dimly in the moonlight, his overall pelt was mesmerizing to me, but I didn't know why,
“Why are you out here?, I'm sure Clara would have assigned you a sleeping quarters”,
“She did, but, I dismissed her hospitality”,
“What on earth for?”,
“There's no reason for me to intrude”,
“Nonsense, here, I'll let you sleep on the extra bed I have already laid out in my den if you'd like”,
“Did you know that I was coming or something?”,
I laughed,
“No silly, it's for Vectis since I babysit him often for his mother”,
“Ahhh, that makes sense”,
“Mhm, so, you coming?”,
“Yup, lead the way”,
The both of us went to my den and settled down for bed.

---Clara's p.o.v
The sunlight warmed my fur as I opened my eyes, my gaze immediately met the egg, it was sitting on a nest of straw wrapped in its fuzzy blanket, the sun sometimes made the egg semi transparent so you could see what was actually in it slightly, which is why I like to wake up at dawn, it makes me look forward to every sunrise, I'd done it ever since the egg had arrived, it sounds strange but it's kinda nice seeing it, it changes every week too, so it's something to look forward to, I can distinguish the baby's mutations but that's it, the rest is a surprise, I gently shifted so I could leave the bed without waking Drax, the rest of the pack was obviously awake because there was a lot of noise, I shifted my paws one by one over the rocky ground until I met the grass, walked onto it and looked around, the sleeping quarters was pretty bare and lifeless until both Raika and Uniqua emerged from her den, her eyes met mine almost instantly,
“And what have you two been doing?”,
“Oh hi Clara, uh, erm, it's not what it looks like”,
She flushed,
“Then what is it?”,
I replied desperately trying to hold back my laughter,
“It's exactly what you think it is”,
Raika countered, she elbowed him while the both of us laughed, Uniqua instead was trying to bury her head within her two front paws, “Isn't that right Uniqua”,
He said while nudging her,
“It's about time someone got the treatment I did”,
We kept laughing until our ribs hurt,
“Well, I gotta go and check on the others before you kill me with laughter, you two have fun”,
“Oh we will”,
He replied nudging her again and I made my way to the living room where everyone else was.

---Uniqua’s p.o.v
“You have no idea how much I hate you for someone I have just met”,
I said through the muffles of my sleeves,
“Lighten up debbie downer, that was just some harmless fun”,
“Was not!”,
I countered raising my head,
“Was too”,
“Lier lier, fur on fire”,
“What! My furs on fire!”,
I facepalmed and rolled my eyes, he got down on his hind legs in a playful like position and started wagging his tail,
“Cmon debbie downerrrr”,
“Fine, but this is how it's done”,
I got down on my hind legs and began rapidly wagging my tail jumping from side to side effortlessly,
“Fine, you winnnn”,
“Ha”,
We both raised our heads back up, our muzzles met halfway, I could feel my face getting hotter as I moved mine away, I tried my best to hide my face,
“Dawwww, the little punk girl has a crush”,
Raika teased,
“Do not”,
“Then you won't mind if I do this”,
He nuzzled me, I don't really know if he meant it or if it was just to be annoying,
“Nope, I don't”,
“You've proven me wrong”,
“Maybe I have”,
I nuzzled him back.

---Clara's p.o.v
Everyone was playing around, nothing major, everyone seemed to be getting along better, Bleu with Foxy, Vectis with Bella, Tia with Valentine, Arco Iris with Comet, Hope and Aphrodite, I assumed that Uniqua would still be with Raika, but why was Comet here, I thought he left with Cynder and Phoenix to go someplace no one, even I didn’t know about,
“Hey Clara”,
He called over waving, I walked toward them,
“Comet, it’s been forever, why’d you come back?”,
“He missed home”,
Arco teased causing Hope to laugh, Comet kindly dismissed them,
“I won’t lie, I did miss home, but a lot has happened since then I hear”,
“Indeed, i'm assuming you’ve met the new additions”,
“You’re correct, Vectis, Arco, Tia and one I am yet to meet”,
“Technically it’s two”,
We laughed,
“Ahhh, yes, may I see this egg I have heard so much about?”,
“You may, i'm pretty sure Drax would be fine with it”,
“Alright let’s go”,
We began to walk to the far left of the living room and toward the slope that led to the sleeping quarters,
“So Drax left for awhile”,
I sighed,
“Comet you know that's none of your business”,
“Im well aware of that, doesn’t mean I haven’t been worried about you and everyone else, I knew something was wrong, that's why I came back”,
“Comet that's sweet and all, but you don't have to”,
“I do, I missed my family and my best friend”,
“Our friendship expired years ago Comet”,
“But I still think of you as my best friend, why didn't you tell him about the baby?”,
“Just shut up!”,
I snapped at him which shut him up and we kept walking,
“My sincere apologies Clara”,
My ears flicked but I didn't reply, both Uniqua and Raika were sitting on a rock, oddly close,
“Hey you two”,
They turned,
“Who's this?”,
Raika said curiously,
“Im Comet”,
Comet said stepping forward,
“And who’re you?”,
“I’m Raika and this is Uniqua”,
She nodded,
“It's nice to meet you Comet”,
Uniqua smiled while speaking,
“Likewise”,
“So what’re you two up to?”,
“Talking and nuzzling, why?”,
She elbowed his shoulder,
“D’awww, are you two a thing?”,
I teased, Raika laughed,
“Maybeeee”,
He replied,
“Good luck with that Uniqua if he’s anything like Drax”,
“Ohhh, i'm a hundred percent sure he is Clara”,
She replied while hiding her head beneath her top, me and Raika laughing until our ribs hurt,
“We better be going if we’re going to see the egg before sunset”,
I said turning to Comet,
“Yeah, see you soon”,
I nodded and left, Comet close behind.

---Uniqua’s p.o.v
I peered out of the collar of my top, to watch their silhouettes fade carefully so my necklace didn’t get caught in my tops threads,
“Well, are we?”,
I turned to Raika,
“Pardon?”,
“D’you want to be “Together”?”,
I didn’t really know what to say so I kept my mouth closed, every time I thought of something to say they’d just join the other hundred words in the massive jumble,
“You ok?”,
Raika said concerned,
“Yeah, it's just”,
“Haven't feeled these emotions before?”,
“Exactly, but most guys I've met are y’know”,
“Inconsiderate, misunderstanding, horrible?”,
“You know a lot huh?”,
“I know that you like me”,
My face began to burn a little,
“How?”,
“You made it kind of obvious”,
“Well, obviously I'm not good at hiding things from you then”,
“Guess not, but, gonna answer my question?”,
“I dunno”,
“Awww, come on Uniqua”,
“How do I know if you like me back?”,
“This answer your question?”,
He muzzled me and put his tail over mine,
“Mhm”,
The sun began to set, it was most beautiful from the rock we were on, why I bought him here, his paw shifted over to mine and held it, my eyes were fixated on the gorgeous sunset, though I risked a few glances in Raika’s direction,
“I love you, Uniqua”,
I froze, my heart was beating rapidly,
“I-I-I love you too”.

---Clara's p.o.v
“Just this way Comet”,
He was close behind me, we were fast approaching my den, both the egg and Drax were clearly insight, he turned toward us,
“There you are Clara”,
“Were you looking for me?”,
“No, I just wanted to talk to you about ditching me while I'm asleep”,
I went inside the den and nuzzled him, which he returned,
“I accept your apology, now, Comet, it's been quite a while, hasn't it?”,
“Indeed Drax”,
“Why are you back?”,
“To see my family, and the new ones to come”,
“Clara?”,
“Yeah Drax?”,
“Did you tell Comet that he could see our child?”,
“Yeah, why?”,
“It's not happening”,
“Is old Drax scared”,
Comet snickers, Drax returned it with a growl,
“Leave Comet”,
“As you wish”,
Comet swiped at Drax, easily blocked, I ran inside to get the egg, it was heavier than last time, I didn't ponder over it, instead, I ran, I could hear multiple whimpers in the distance, the egg began to shake between my arms,
“Not now, not now”,
I ran to Uniqua and Raika, still on the rock we left them on, the pair turned,
“Comet and Drax are fighting and the baby's very close to hatching”,
My voice was shaking,
“Clara, I'll help Drax, Uniqua, find a place for Clara and her baby to be safe”,
“Ok”,
And with that, we split up, the best bet was to go to Bella’s den, since it was the farthest away, she was already outside when we came to her den,
“What on earth is going on”,
“No time to explain, we need to keep Clara and the egg in your den until further notice”,
“Ok, come in”,
Vectis, was watching as I placed the egg onto Bella's bed, it moved bit by bit, the shell cracking in weird areas, I would help it, but it's bad to do so, eventually they'll break it on their own, warmth was the highest priority as it was hatching, so the baby could know that it was close to being in the outside world and with its family, hours passed, the baby's hind paws were struggling to break the eggs solid shell, Hope was there with me, she was so excited to have a younger sibling to be around, she did feel a bit lonely growing up without one, let alone her biological parents,
“Clara”,
I turned to see Misti,
“What is it?”,
“Comet has left, but, both Raika and Drax are pretty injured”,
“Oh no”,
Uniqua looked down as she spoke,
“Can they come here?”,
I requested,
“I'm afraid not”,
My gaze fell upon the egg, the baby still struggled,
“Nonsense”,
Hope said as she stood up,
“I will carry my father if I must, he is seeing this”,
“Hope it's ridiculous”,
“And this is a once in a lifetime thing, he deserves to see his first child be born”,
“As you wish, come”,
Hope followed Misti, Uniqua’s paw met my shoulder, my eyes immediately making contact with hers,
“He’ll be here Clara, don’t worry”,
I nodded, tears formed in my eyes as I picked up the egg and cradled it in my front paws, everyone in the room was watching the egg move as a single tear left my muzzle and onto it, “Crack”, the top off the egg fell onto the floor, I placed it back onto the bed,
“Mother”,
Hope said, as she said, she had come back with both Drax and Raika, Drax limped to my side, sat down and wiped my tears, the egg tipped over and out emerged a young male viscet, with the prettiest of coat color, he was perfect, I picked him up, his little eyes met mine and his front paws reached for my muzzle, Drax looked at him while I cradled him, he was so tiny, fragile, helpless, he attempted to stand with the safety of my paws beneath him, his eyes locked onto Drax and he waddled to him, tripping a few times, I turned back to the egg and picked it up, it was still averagely heavy, like something else was in there,
“Uh Drax”,
“Yeah?”,
He said looking up from playing with him,
“There's another baby”,
“Clara, that’s impossible”,
“It's a wee girl”,
“What?”,
“Look”,
I reached gently into egg, my paws gently moved under the young girls belly and lifted her up out of the egg,
“She’s perfect, just look at her”,
She was much smaller than her brother, obviously weaker and more fragile,
“Clara, that baby won’t live”,
Misti said looking down,
“What are you on about?”,
I replied confused,
“She’s effectively a runt, underdeveloped, destined for death”,
“You're lying Misti”,
Uniqua said angrily
“I certainly am not Uniqua, this is fact”,
“No it's not!”,
I yelled, tears pouring down my face making it increasingly harder to breath,
“Clara”,
“No, i'll show you Misti, she will live, mark my words”,
I hugged her closer to me, she looked at me with her adorable big eyes,
“Clara, Misti is right”,
“So you're on his side then Drax”,
“I'm not on anyone's side, he is speaking the truth”,
I stood up, but didn’t speak and walked out the door, taking the remains of the egg with me, Uniqua called after me,
“Clara, I can help”,
“How do I know this isn’t a trick, Uniqua”,
“Because this is how I will repay you for saving me”,
I halted,
“Are you serious”,
“I am, I am just as determined as you are”,
“Fine, come with me”,
She followed me as I led her to my den I gently set the baby down on the fuzzy blanket and placed the egg remains on the table.

“Gotcha”,
I said while holding my brother against the ground,
“Oh come on Moana, not fair, I wasn't ready”,
“Just too afraid to admit that you were beat by a girl aye, Apothas”,
I snickered,
“Uh, no, that's not true”,
“But it is brother”,
“Just get off me”,
“You gotta say it first”,
“In your dreams girlie”,
“Come on you two, that’s enough”,
Dad walked toward us and I got off Apothas allowing him to stand,
“Hey dad”,
I said smiling
“Looks like you were bested by your sister, Apothas”,
“I let her win”,
“Did not!”,
“Did too!”,
Mum shook her head as she walked toward us and came to dad’s side,
“And what's all this commotion”,
“Nothing mother”,
“Clara, I gotta talk to you”,
Dad looked serious, me along with Apothas, were concerned, since we have some sort of twin communication thing, we were talking without anyone noticing, we had always kept it secret,
“Ok, I guess”,
“Hey guys!”,
Hope and my nephew, who was older than me, Taonga, walked in,
“Hey big sis!”,
I said running toward her and hugging her,
“Hey you, what’s up?”,
“I bet Apothas just before, you shoulda seen me!”,
“I told you, I let you win!”,
Apothas shouted, walking away with Taonga,
“Oh sure brother!”,
I shouted back, Hope smiled,
“Good job lil sis”,
“Thank you”,
I walked proudly back to mother,
“Mum, can I go with Hope? Pleaseeeeee”,
She laughed,
“Of course you can Moana, just be back before sun down”,
“Ok”,

---Hours later - sundown
“Do you have to?”,
Mother said sobbing,
“You know I do Clara”,
Me and Apothas were laying down on our beds, listening to Mother and Father's conversation, using our twin power to communicate so they couldn’t hear,
“But what about the kids?”,
“Now that they are here, there’s many more reason as to why I should go”,
I couldn’t help but start crying, father was leaving us,
“Uniqua?”,
“She feels the same way you do, she loves Raika as much as you do me”,
“Poor thing”,
“Yeah, they were just beginning, but she knows like you do, we have to protect”,
“I can't lose you Drax, promise me I won’t lose you”,
She was really crying now,
“I promise”,
Apothas walked to the entrance to our bedroom,
“Brother, what on earth are you doing!”,
I said between sobs,
“Well, i’m not about to stand by and watch this happen!”,
He walked out, I followed him, we entered the living room to see mum and dad hugging, mums face buried in his shoulder,
“Mum, dad?”,
“Kids?”,
Dad countered, mum looked up, her cheeks stained with tears,
“What's going on?”,
I asked, mum escaped the hug and rubbed her shoulder nervously,
“Well?”,
Apothas finished,
“…..Your father is leaving”,
“Why?”,
I asked, tears filling my eyes again, “I have to, Apothas and Moana, it's my duty”,
“But dad, why now?”,
Apothas interjected trying to hold back tears,
“Your father had left about a year before you were born, to protect from harm and the only reason he came back is because I”,
Mum sighed as she continued,
“I didn't tell him that I was pregnant….”,
Her voice trailed off as her head lowered, dad's tail met hers and wrapped around it,
“Dad, can I come with you”,
“Brother, no!, I'd be so alone without you…”,
“Apothas, that's absurd”,
He countered,
“But dad, you'd need family to help wouldn't you?”,
He kind of had a point there, mum and dad exchanged looks, mother nodded,
“Ok, Apothas, we leave at dawn”.

---Moana's p.o.v
Ever since my twin brother had left it had become increasingly more lonely, I had no one to tussle around with anymore, those times were over, the older I got the more I missed him, I'm sixteen now and haven't seen him since I was five, mother was feeling the same way, she was depressed most of the time, I try cheer her up, but it is difficult, I spend most of my time practicing my power of earth against dummy's, which i got from my best friend Emmy but I prefer to fight the old fashioned way, with a sword, I don't have much friends, in fact I just call them acquaintances, since I very rarely hang out with them,
“Mother”,
“Yes Moana?”,
“Will father and Apothas ever come visit?”,
“I promise Moana, all in good time”,
There was a brief awkward silence between us, she was obviously thinking about him, but were they doing the same?,
“Knock knock”,
Tia said while walking in,
“Hey Tia, how are you?”,
“The normal, just wanted to check up on you two”,
“We're fine”,
I inserted, I never really liked Tia, something about her seemed off,
“Very well, Happy sixteenth birthday Moana”,
“Thanks”,
I said with a fake smile, she then let herself out,
“You're hoping that he comes today, aren't you”,
Mother said over the sizzling of bacon,
“Yeah I am…”,
“I really hope that he does…, I really want to celebrate our kids sixteenth birthday together, but who knows if it'll happen”,
She set down my birthday breakfast in front of me and left the room,
“Psst, Moana, you there?”,
I thought I was hearing things, but then I remembered what it was,
“Apothas?”,
“Yeah, it's me”,
“Talk about long time no see”,
“No kidding, how are you?”,
“Fine, happy birthday”,
“Happy birthday to you too Moana, how's mum?”,
“She seems to be getting more and more depressed by day, but she made me an amazing breakfast which I'm eating right now”,

“Honestly I don't really care about them, I just want to see my brother and father again”,
“Yeah, we've been extremely busy-”,
“Have you been thinking about us?”,

I didn't bother respond, I just kept on eating my breakfast, not a crumb was left on the plate, the den seemed awfully quiet, so I sat up and made my way to my room,
“Ok, thanks, keep in touch”,
“Will do”,
I entered mother's room curiously,
“Who was that?”
Mother turned, shocked,
“Moana, it was nothing”,
I narrowed my eyes, causing her to noticeably crack,
“Moana… it was a surprise…”,
“What was mother?”,
“That was Atriox, a member of Legion like your brother and father, he was helping me organize something for your birthday…”,
“Oh… I talked to Apothas before…”,
Mother paused for a moment,
“How?”,
She asked finally,
“We have a twin power of sorts, it let’s us communicate with one another through our head, at least, we think that is how it works, anyway, apparently they have been too busy lately to think about us”,
“I'm not surprised, Moana, they are very busy…”,
“But mother”,
I yelled interrupting her sentence,
“It’s wrong”.

“Moana, i know you’re upset but what they do is extremely important, i know you miss them, so do i… but they have to do it… protecting all of us isn’t easy…”,
“It is and I will prove it.”,
I stormed off. How dare she. I haven’t seen my counterpart in a near decade. It hurts. Maybe I should go see Faith… She’ll know what to do...

“I hate doing this…”,
I say aloud to myself,
“I hate keeping secrets from the only family i have here… real family anyway… she’s the only one that stayed with me… not that I blame Apothas for leaving… but it would have been better if he hadn’t of left… i can tell she misses him the most out of everyone here… even compared to Haela… but what am i supposed to do?...”,
I sat down on my bed and sigh,
“Why did i do this… sometimes I think everything would have been better off if he never knew…”,
My eyes fall upon my bedside draw and open it carefully,
“I knew you were still in here”,
I said aloud picking up the fuzzy brown bear i was given as a child, I stroked his slightly crumpled fur lightly, I hugged him close for awhile while sighing,
“I think Moana would like you”,
I say aloud as if talking to him while fixing up his bow. Perfect.

--- Moanas p.o.v
I walk into my mate, Faiths den quietly, the dens air was kind of eire and only Faiths humming could be heard, many thoughts are running through my head,
"Hey you",
I hear Faith call from my right causing me to turn,
"Faith, is it wrong to think my brother and father hate me...",
"Oh Moana...",
She stood up from the stool she was placed on working on her latest art project, she timidly walked toward me until her muzzle met mine,
"You know that isnt true Mo, they both love you, honestly through i kind of feel the same about my father but i push it out of my mind, but then again i dont have a sibling that left me",
I let myself breakdown in front of her, she promptly hugged me tighter,
"It isnt fair.... Today is meant to be Apothas's and i's big day... It feels like theyve both forgotten about mother and i...",
"Moana, they would both die protecting you...",
"I know but it hurts... Not knowing if theyre safe hurts... Not knowing if dad will be around when his first grandchild is born hurts...",
My gaze fell upon the egg in the corner of the room perfectly wrapped in a fuzzy blanket,
"Moana they will be here, i know it, do you believe me?",
"I... I believe you...",
"Good, im sure Clara will be wondering where you are",
"Y-yeah, i guess",
I escaped her hug gently,
"You two be safe",
I said before turning to leave,
"we will",
After hearing that i let myself out and walked home.

Well, that's strange, the makeshift door to the family den is shut, mother never shuts it, it looks incredibly dark on the inside too, creepy. Maybe mother has gone out? , I open the door with caution, this is super scary, i tiptoed into the house, suddenly the curtains opened,
"Surprise!",
One after another everyone jumps up and all i can do is cover my mouth,
"Happy birthday lil sis",
Apothas runs up to me and hugs me, i look over to see mum and dad beside one another, tail in tail, mother looked the happiest she had been in a long time, it made me smile, Apothas stopped hugging me and looked at me,
"Wow you have grown",
"You sound astonished",
I start to laugh at him,
"I know, its been a long time",
Mother and father started to walk toward us, dad was smiling,
"It sure has been a long time since the whole family was together",
"Yeah",
Mother said proudly, she must be proud that she is the first viscet to ever have twins and have both survive even though the first years of my life were very rocky, she did it and here we are 13 years later, i am an expecting mother with Faith and Apothas and his mate Haela are trying, guess that makes our parents super special, i dont really know how they did it,
"Youve really grown Moana",
"Thank you dad",
I smiled shyly, i looked around the den, alot of the pack members were here but my heart got instantly crushed, mother looked at me confused,
"Moana, whats wrong?",
"F-F-Faith...",
My voice began to traill off, mother looked around only for her eyes to return to mine in shock.
