Have you ever written a book or a poem and have been looking to receive criticism on it or perhaps tips on style, diction, setting, theme, or perhaps something in between? Have you ever wanted to know the difference between "can not" and "cannot"? Well, this place can be for you! Whether it is self-promotion, an honest calling, or just means to get some advice, please post accordingly to these rules below! Please note, a detailed explanation for my opinions on things will take a little time to post, so please give me at least a day to respond to you at most. This is concerning if I'm at school or if you messaged me at the time I'm just heading to bead. If you also want to comment on other's works here, feel free to also add your opinion or even say why you think mine is not just. Again, what I comment is only an opinion! So, if you wish to post here, please refer to this list of rules below!
RULES:
1.) If you are posting something from a book, (i.e from a novel you have written or a story) Make sure it is like a chapter's length or the arc of the novel. I cannot review a whole story in only a few hours. I can however asses the plot, characterization (refer to rule 3), themes, ect.
2.) If you wish for me to take a peek at a poem, I would more than happily give my assessment of the poems you send me. (I literally do this everyday in class and have had to write several papers over these and I quite like them!) I can judge themes, style, diction, and author's word choice, or even give what I think the meaning of you poem is based on what you give me. As for poems, feel free to post the whole poem. I have no limit on their length.
3.) As for reviewing characterization in a book/novel, this is not a place to post original characters for me to review. I am here to review the book as a whole, and by characterization, I am speaking on the effect either the character has on the arc of the book or visa versa.
4.) I will find out if you have taken someone else's work. I will, and don't think I won't. Plagiarizing someone else's things is a huge pet peeve of mine, and I would hate to have to call others out for taking the works of another. I write my own books, so I understand the frustration of someone else's characters and story.
5.) Feel free to ask me about grammar. I enjoy discussing grammar and word choice in its entirety.
