like to say something. i am a beginner writer, so i would love tips and feedback.

“a small corner of the universe is ours. it’s tiny, compared to everything, isn’t it? thousands of planets and stars lay here, and what are we compared to it?”

silence.

“everything. we’re everything.”

silence.

“the stars cannot be as brave as you, and the planets are nothing compared to your perseverance. the mighty seas are fledglings compared to your strength. remember that one time you stood up for yourself? when you spoke your opinion, you shouted it loud. that was yours, and belonged to you. no star could do that. the moon lights up the sky for you at night, but you create a fire to light the whole world. it’s small at first. but it grows, it grows bigger than any star that has ruled the day, and any moon that has ruled the night. you hold more secrets than the universe. more adventures, more curiosities, more failures, more memories than anything out there.”

nothing.

“funny, isn’t it?”

silence.

the slow-moving, empty universe had no reply. it’s always silent.

“i just want to hear how you sound.”

i stared at the blank sky. it was silent and still.

gold and the sun.
his touch warming
and vibrant.
and his mind held secrets greater
than thousands of pages
of writing.
