The music plays in the background. Two sets of feet tap against the floor in a rhymic hymn. The cold metal walls surround the music and keep it trapped within the room. Two sets of fingers clumsily clasp together. Hums of chuckling and laughter spill from the room, jokes flying through the room. Gunshots are heard from a distance. Banging on the door to the room increases in volume slowly as more taps approach, drowning the two sets from earlier. The music keeps playing. There's a smashing as the door breaks open. The music keeps playing. The room is flooded with yelling. The music keeps playing.

Strangers. It's a concept known to all, even those of younger ages. It's a word you hear from your mother when you're six telling you to avoid 'stranger danger', and it's a word that gets tossed around by angsty teens looking for a way to pull at heartstrings. But behind these letters, there's a meaning far too complex and diverse to simply display in one story. Perhaps the only common theme to this word, however, is the tone of loneliness hidden in the curves and vowels.
