Cry, baby. Cry! They jeered at him, laughed at his tears. He was six, still new to the world. But he didn’t like seeing the pain on others- so he’d gotten in the way, taken the kick meant for the boy on the ground.

At twelve, he found a litter of puppies. All but one had succumbed to the cold. He’d cried then too, the voices of those bullies long ago echoing in his mind. But what was wrong with it? The world was full of pain, and he’d always felt better after crying. So maybe, after he cried, the world would feel a little better.

Older now, he still had the same thoughts. They’d only deepend. The world was hurting, and sometimes it too cried. Rain was his favorite weather, and sometimes he would go out and cry with the world.

The world was sadness (he was too). But after all rain (all his tears) life (his feelings) would be better, helped. And if there was one, deep reason why he cried. It would be to feel better.

The sun would come from behind cloud. He would smile again.
