What Are They?

Emyriches are large docile creatures that inhabit the large, mystical island of Emyr. They emerge from their leafy lairs at dusk and are active for most of the night and morning. A colony of Emyriches is a tightly knit community, mostly consisting of a couple families. They are very social but completely silent as they lack mouths. They communicate through the bells on their tails which are also completely silent to the average human ear. The Emyriches pick up these signals through their large rabbit like ears and then respond if necessary. How do they eat? Well, they use the colorful pads on their feet to absorb nutrients from plants. This doesn’t harm the plant.

They are the size of a small horse when full grown. Females are slightly taller than males and are usually the ones that lead the colonies. Males mark territories and guard if they have to. Their only means of self defense are their size and small claws on their hind feet.

Cubs are born without bells and are mute for the first few months. At two years old, a cub will receive a wrap. This wrap will be their first and probably last. The parent either makes it or hires someone to. This band displays the cubs personality and where they stand in the colony. Usually, females wear them on one of their front legs and males on one of the back. Some adults add/remove wraps or change the location based on gender identity. The wraps can be vibrantly colored and intricate but usually match the eyes and paw pads of the cub. They stand out from the naturally colored coat of the Emyrich.

)))Adopting, Aging & More

Postby McKellsen » Wed Mar 26, 2014 1:26 pm

)))Aging
If you adopt a cub, you must wait at least a month before aging into
the adult lines. If you breed and receive a newborn, you must wait a
month before coloring in the cub lines.

Newborn: Rabbit sized 0-2 months
Cub: Dog sized: 2 months-2 years
Adult: Pony sized: 2+ years

When coloring in the cubs lines (or you can have the artist do it) make
sure the markings are accurate. Also, in the cub lines area, there is a
hidden layer with line info on it about the type of bell and ears the adult
form will have. Please choose the correct layers.
)))Adopting
Make sure to check and see if the Emyrich is still open for adoption, then
filling the form and make sure to meet the requirements. Please, fill in
forms all the way and be a good sport (without spamming the thread).
If the competition is very close and the artist is having trouble picking a
winner, they can talk to me about a runner-up.

)))Breeding
Emyrich couples breed for life and usually have 1-3 litters together.
Almost all litters consist of 2 cubs. Very few consist of just 1 (a one in 10 chance) and never 3.
The chance of getting a male or female is even and totally random. (A number generator is used.)
The ear and bell type is determined by the artist. If both parents have normal ears, the cub will have normal ears. If one parent has lop ears and the other has normal, it is a 1 in 3 chance of getting a lop cub.
Nursery is here: viewtopic.php?f=52&t=1816075

)))Note to Artists
Emyriches are natural or neutral colors. White, grays, browns, and black is fine. You may also add in more unnatural colors in moderation. The designs should be fairly simple and contain no more than 10 colors. The paw pads, nose, bell and eyes are all the same color. There is the possibility for 2 unnatural colors (different colored eyes/heterochromia, speckled paw pads, etc) but it is rare.
There is also the uncommon lop eared option and different bells. The bells are both common.
The wrap in the corner is self explanatory. You can color it for cubs if you want or leave it for the owners to do. ;3
No line edits but some natural accessories are okay.

)))FAQ + Review

Postby McKellsen » Wed Mar 26, 2014 1:27 pm

)))Frequently Asked Questions

What Emyriches are up for adoption (UFA)?
You can find this out by looking at the post below.

Where can I find the color codes?
Sometimes, they will be in the fist post. If you know
how to retrieve them from the image, take them from
the circles off to the side. These are the definite
colors (not blended). If you do not know how, you
may (politely) ask the artist to post them.

Could I have my Emyriches from the old lines
colored on the new lines?

No sorry. New lines are only for new designs.
(Staff are the only exception.)

Are they free?
Most adopts will have competitions to win them. These
are free/open adoptables.
Some may require payment to adopt or be auctioned off.

How much do customs cost?
We do not do customs and don't plan on ever
doing so. Only staff members and close friends
can have them.

Can I add items to my Emyrich?
Yes, you may add items that they might find
in nature and simple human belonging.
Add ons such as hair, wings, complex human
clothes, technology, etc. are
not allowed.

)))Review
After reading the species info, the staff and I would really appreciate it if you took the time to honestly and thoroughly fill out the form here. <3
