- im kind of happy for myself right now.
I did something kind for once, well-- not for a person, but for a bug.
I usually treat bugs like trash, crush them, burn them, etc.-- but this was just, different.
I was walking around outside, about to unlock the shop, when I heard really high-pitched screeching. Because my hearing is so sensitive after my accident in 2015, it was fairly loud, and I could tell where it was coming from. I looked down to the left of my feet, and saw a small horned beetle. I immediately recognized the bug, because as a kid, I enjoyed playing a game called Beetle Bomb in which I would throw them into the air, and watch them smash into the concrete. I'd do it over and over until they died.
I kind of smirked, and was about to pick the bug up, when I realized that it wasn't just screeching-- it was crying. I of course, was confused, until I saw a tiny, little amber dot run across it's belly. A seed tick. I know from experience that those things are painful, and this poor beetle was about to be bitten by one. Now those things are hard to get off. I felt bad for the poor thing, so I took a nearby small stick, and worked for about twenty minutes getting the tick off, and it worked.
The beetle flipped itself over, and it crawled onto my hand on the ground. It looked at me with it's tiny, little bug eyes, and let out a small chirp. I felt happy for the guy, so I let him go.
I feel proud of myself.
