I HAVE A QUESTION!

YOUR QUESTION: How would I solve this:
log164 ^3√2 (*log16 4 times the cube root of 2)

The correct answer is 7/12 but how do I get that?

Okay, so log_b (x) = y is equivalent to b^y = x

Since you have an unknown y, your log is equivalent to:

b^? = x
geddit?

Let's fill in the blanks.
log_16 (4 * 2^(1/3))) = y --> the root of a number is equal to that number raised to the inverse of the root you're taking
which is equivalent to
16^y = 4 * 2^(1/3)

You can easily solve one side of that equation.
16^y = 5.04

The rest isn't so easy to solve, so we're going to do something a little funny and take the log of both sides (base 10 this time, though) so that we can get rid of the exponential.

log(16^y) = log(5.04)
y*log(16) = log(5.04)

Which we'll use a calculator for.
y * 1.20 = 0.70
y = 0.7/1.2

Now multiply the fraction by 10/10 to get rid of the decimals:
y = 7/12

Now remember that y was what log_16 (4 * 2^(1/3))) is equal to, so log_16 (4 * 2^(1/3))) = 7/12.

Does that all make sense? I think that's the appropriate steps to take. =x (I know it's all correct, just not positive it's the method you're working on.)

    I'm certain this is correct, but it seems a bit complicated. c:
    I spent half an hour thinking the subscript said log(18), not log(16), and trying to figure out why I kept getting an answer that was very close but incorrect, ahhh...

    The product rule of logarithms states that logbx + logby = logb(xy). Usually you use this to simplify. Now, just reverse it. If x=4, and y=3√2, then you've got two very solvable logarithms -> log164*3√2 = log164 + log163√2. Then, use the standard power law and solve.
    log
    164 + log163√2
    = (log4/log16) + (log3√2/log16) = 0.583... = 7/12

Aaah, I had that rule in my mind but didn't run with it, lol. As I said, I was really unsure that was the correct method. Thanks for coming by with a second and refreshing my memory! Always great to provide multiple methods.

I HAVE A QUESTION!
TYPE OF QUESTION: English ( Essay )
YOUR QUESTION:We’ve recently read How to kill a Mockingbird.
Well it’s come to that point where we write an essay about it. We must start with a theme using racism as the topic within the novel. But it needs to have 2 examples of where this theme is used in the book.
At first my theme was “Racism often spreads through the negative influence, actions, and opinions of others.” But I was told it’s too broad. My examples were Scout’s cousin Francis and Mayella Ewell how their family and peers encouraged them to feel that way about Tom Robinson’s situation.
But here’s the fun part, I have to connect my theme from the book to something that’s happened recently in the world. I would really appreciate the help even though I know it’s a lot to ask.
Edit: I’ve received help :D

T is a supplementary angle so it would be 180-114 and that would give the last angle measure for the triangle, which you also need supplementary of that measure and another angle that has no letter. Also the angle measure from the last triangle will give you vertical angles theorem and you will have one angle, then you only need angles R and V. I believe you should be able to figure it out past this since it’s multiple choice lol

I think it's something like this?

RTS = 180 - 114 = 66
RUT = (180-114)/2 = 33
SVU = (180 - VST - RUT)
= 180-31-33
= 116

therefore x = 180 - 116 = 64

Calc AB, yes, though I'm a year rusty. I have people I can talk to if I'm unfamiliar with something tho
