The ideas of why Hekomi locked the Things That Annoy You thread when there was a good 750 replies left on it.

Because somebody had posted an awful link on there- I saw it- and it had kept being quoted across the pages, so Komi locked the thread for a couple minutes so she could remove the posts with that link, or edit them to make them.. without the link. Not sure how to phrase that, but I think you get the gist.
