Special Things

I've had many dwarf hamsters before and currently own 10 of them but I've fallen in love with one of them. He was a very bite-y little thing since he was born, whereas his brother was always sweet and never bit, so my mom preferred him over the bite-y one. Because of that, I gave the more aggressive one as much attention as possible and ended up just loving the heck outta him. (The sweet non-biting brother died last year unfortunately). The bite-y boy is a Campbell's/Winter White mixed hamster named Keenie, and now he's surpassed the average lifespan, which is about 1-2 years. Dwarf hamsters are prone to diabetes, so I rarely ever gave him sweet treats before. I'd give him little bits of whatever I was eating though, but now that he's a little old man I give him lots of treats because I know he could die any day now and I want to make sure he dies happy, knowing he was loved.

What are some special things that you have done/still do for your pet(s)?

I share meals with my dog sometimes, as long as it's safe for dogs (since I love my dog, Rocky, to death I'll look up everything in my meal)
I go to the park every week with my dog and play fetch or run around with him
At night, I usually sit at the front porch and sit with him, or watch him play around with my 2 cats.

I don't know if these count as special, but don't think everyone does this with their dog.

My cat is an outdoor cat, so I go out of the way to go outside and pet her when she comes meowing to the house because nobody else does :'c

I'm so late getting back to this post, I wish they had a notification type system set up for replies on the threads you post.

Aww! How sweet, I used to have a dog named Rocky when I was about 3.
I'd count that as special, it doesn't have to be a unique thing that only you do with/for your pet. It can be something that everyone does with their pet, as long as it's a special thing to you!
