I'm sure it's just someone trying to get a reaction out of people. Nonetheless it is always recommended animals be kept indoors during holidays like Halloween. Where I live, the county animal control and many private shelters are always putting up information around this time of year to inform people that a lot of loose cats end up injured or killed on Halloween, typically by teenagers who think it's funny to perform joke "sacrifices" in the spirit of Halloween. It makes no sense, and it's disgusting. One time while doing filing work at the local shelter I was listening the employees talk about cats that had been set on fire during the week of Halloween. It came up after they found a burned body of a dog in one of the body bins(people can drop off road kill, dead pets, etc, and the shelter will dispose of them safely). Thankfully, they believe the dog had be dead prior to burning. If you catch anyone harming an animal, or hear anyone saying they did, then contact you local authorities to report it.

My neighbors puppy got horribly killed by teens as a "Halloween prank"
They got caught cause When the went for my dogs, they must have not known how huge my younger one was.
My dad ran outside because my dog was growling, and the teens ran away.
They dropped the knife they were using.
At least they got caught but..
It was horrible.
my birthday is on may 17th, woo!
Need help naming to twin girl human characters, pm me

I don't thin kit really matters if its a 'troll' or 'prank'. People need to be aware that there are people at there that take these things literally and pet-owners need to know. What may have started off as trolling could seriously escalate into someone taking it seriously and making it their vendetta.
So.. I just learned, after years of being on the site, how to manage my message inbox and I APPARENTLY have over 400 messages 'on hold'... So I apologize for being a dunce and not getting back to people.. D:

really D.O.? you don't seem to have a problem with my pits lol... except gracelynn licking you constantly.

and on another note this is soo not funny. The whole soak a hot dog thing works, about 9 years ago we had two 6 month old pit bulls, a brother and sister, joker and Sadie. Joker did not look like a pit but Sadie looked like a classic brindle pit and they were both poisoned like that. from what we have guessed because Sadie was more dominate she must have eaten more than Joker and she died. Joker lived but now he has seizures and horrible problems because of it. this is a subject that hits so close to home for me. my dogs may bark, may look mean, but they have never hurt anyone.

Eeeeek, I'm gonna keep Lucy and Max inside just in case! Even though they aren't Pits, I can see some twisted mind attacking them anyone just because they look a bit like one...
PMs are welcome.

Wow... sick much? I don't think it's real... but still... I have a pit-mix, but I don't think I'm gonna really worry about her, even if someone actually decides to take this seriously... I live in the middle of nowhere, with like five neighbors.
Then again, two of those neighbors are total nutjobs who would probably take something like this seriously (
I'm not joking, they're crazy- a month ago one of them shot their finger off with a gun)
Anyways, thanks for posting this- I think I'm gonna be keeping my dogs inside this Halloween, whether I live in the middle of nowhere or not.
