You should never rely on sand as a substrate. It can cause compaction and end up killing your reptile, slowly. This is why I use paper towel - thin enough to let heat in, ridiculously easy to clean, cheap and it won't harm my reptile. (i have ink free paper towel.)

If you'd like to risk compacting your reptile because people at an aquarium (which, last time I heard, dealt with fish and not reptiles?) then that's fine. I'd never risk the death of my leopard gecko, king. I love her a lot and I take caring for her seriously.

They've been okay thus far and it's really small grain, so I think they'll be okay. They eat from a bowl anyway. :B
And that aquarium had lots of animals, so they had some reptile experts and stuff. I don't mean to brag or anything I just wanted to say that. XD
Plus they live on sand in the wild. ^^

Sometimes when dustin has stuff stuck to his face, I bring him into a cold room (like a basement) and hold him. He usually falls asleep in my hands because I am warm and he is cold! (so cute..)
Then he will let me gentely peel the stuff off of him. You could try that...
Rarwr there is still some stuck to his toes i cant get it off but he is okay.

Im not sure if he was just yawning today or trying to bite me when I held him cuz he opened his mouth really wide it was weird...

lol mine accidentally nip me sometimes when I feed them a mealworm, it doesn't hurt though. I bet he was yawning. :3

Dustin wont take worms from me, he only eats them when i put them in his house.. -_-
I try! He just sits there and licks me... (or tastes... o.O)
