hey! i'm an artist and i love drawing and making art, but ive been in a slump recently.
it's been difficult for me to get back into drawing again, and ive realized that the pets i have
in my collection really deserve a better home. in short, i need some inspiration on character
creating / concept / drawing ideas, and in return, you'll get to choose one guaranteed pet
from my collection!

essentially, how this will work is that you will provide a
main writing piece, some pictures/gifs, or other forms of creative inspiration
that are adhere to this certain theme or story.

the writing/story can be about a certain character, experience, or some fictional concept
all it has to do is intrigue and inspire, and can be done in many
different ways, and does not have to contain any of the aforementioned
items, as long as it's meaningful, inspiring, beautiful or intriguing.
it can be somewhere along a spectrum of the story behind a small trinket
to the creation of an entire world

your entry must include a pet from my collection that you'll want as a prize if you win.

i understand that the qualifications for this contest are a bit vague, so i'm completely open to questions!
in return, i will offer i'm willing to give up any 1-3 pets i own, depending on the quality + effort shown.
as a baseline, any one pet will be offered to the best submission, but additional pets will be prized
if the submission is especially good
please do put effort into this, and chances are, the more effort that is put into
creating a cohesive theme/story/inspo, the more likely you're going to win!

[Exoneration]

───── An idea

"We are thought into existance. We are ideas and intensions and ideals. Who we are is defined by how we came into existance. Our entire world is made up of thoughts. And as such, it is extremely volitle. The city I live in changed daily.
There are no set paths, not even the buildings stay the same. One day I live in an apartment, another it's a small house. Except,
the basis is the same. I still have green walls, a broken radiator, and a dog, although his breed and color changes frequently. Living in this world is hard, but it teaches you to be flexible.

I've been male and female, humanoid and otherworldly. Sometimes I speak English and others, I speak German or Italian.

Like my house, my basics stay the same. The core part of me. I am Uncertainty. I am unsure and questioning. My life reflects this.
It's nice to meet you, whoever you are today."



Uncertainty turned away from the computer.laptop.phone and sighed, his.her.their voice was soft and oddly musical. He's.he.they took daily vlogs to try and understand the ever-changing world. It was interesting to watch their face.hands.eyes change shape right before their vibrant.dull.wide eyes. He.she.they tried futilely to predict the way their world was going to alter in the next unknown amount of time. He.she.they knew that there was no point but tried anyway. Uncertainty looked around his.her.their room and decided to take a walk, the gloomy room with its green walls did nothing to change his.her.their mood.

The weather was perfect.horrible.cold, so the human.creature.monster grabbed the nearest umbrella.coat.water bottle in absentminded preparation before placing it back where it was. Uncertainty hovered in the doorway a moment, letting the rain.sun.wind into the house.apartment.loft before picking it back up again and heading to turn outside.



The would where Uncertainty lived was old, thoughts had solidified, settled down, more so than the thoughts that made its inhabitants. While they were constantly changing, the landscape older foliage tended to stay the same, changing only every once in a while. New, young things such as flowers changed to weeds.sapplings.shrubs and back to flowers. They never stayed the same color or shape more than a day.

The city was manmade, and while old, wasn't quite as stable as the world itself. It changed, but grudgingly and tended to keep the same plan. It was an Ideas as well and had a base. The city was called Truth. The streets and byways and homes were straightforward and it was easy to tell where you were. It was settled in a shallow valley and seemed to be welcomed and hugged by the wilderness around it. The creatures that dwelled in the grasslands and forests were welcome in the city, for they were truthful.

Most were, anyway. Like the citizens of Truth, the animals.creatures.monsters were made up with thoughts.ideals.mindsets. Although,
more primal and simple than an Idea that created the more sentient creatures. Hunger, Thirst, Caution. they could also be Cruel, Heartless, Feral. Those Ideas weren't so polite, they didn't play nice with others. A Complex Idea could get snuffed out by even a simple one, it happened. Especially when there was more than one.

"Hugo? Hue, can you hear me? Hugo?! Oh, Hugo! Hugo, are you coming through?!"
Blurred images danced in front of my eyes.My head was banging, my mouth was dry and my chest felt as if it had been sliced open and filled with salt, before having a pile of bricks placed upon it. I heard muffled talking around me, and the bed I was lying on felt cold and sad, the whole atmosphere did. Desperate to find where I was and what had happened, I tried to lift my hand to grab one of the people around me but failed; I felt like I weighed 500 lb. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't lift it, so I reluctantly lay still, defeated. As I was slowly coming to my senses, I caught a snippet of a conversation:
"How is he recovering?"
"Slowly...I don't think that.."
"Is my baby boy going to die?! No! He..he can't!" My mother's voice stood out from the crowd and I caught a glimpse of her wild, frizzy hair and her messy blonde curls.
"No, I just..." The man, who I later discovered was called Dr. Evans, talking sighed."I...I don't know. Only fate will tell..."
The room fell silent, and hot, shameful tears crawled down my cheeks. I couldn't remember anything that had happened, and only being thirteen at the time, I felt bewildered and lost. Without realizing, I called out for help, and my father swooped in like a hawk.
"Oh, my little nipper!" my dad wailed, eyes streaming. "I will never let you go again."
I cried harder. Slowly, my life began to play before me. Everything I had ever done flashed through my mind-my first steps, my first ever friend, my first day at school. The time when my friends and I graffitied the old bridge, an the time when I won an artist award at high-school last year. The time when I was little and my family would take me to the park every Wednesday.The time when my little sister, Kasey, arrived and I held her, and my tenth birthday when my mum and dad bought me a pug named Percy. The time when.... the time when.....the time...time........
