I wouldn't say it's a problem- we all managed to talk about it without starting actual arguments with each other.

But there are, as with most fandom, a set of people who are very......I don't wanna say butthurt, but they're very easily set off, and that topic tends to be one that people like that jump on. Those people are the section of the fandom that makes conversations like what was just had almost impossible, because "My opinion is right, and you're wrong for thinking anything else". It gives the real conversations bad names, because of the branch of the fandom that tends to be associated with them.

tl;dr

There's nothing wrong with it, it's the people who act like buffoons that make it wrong.
