Welcome to the Daemian Union! We are people in touch with our inner daemons, our souls manifested in the forms of animals. I am Wendigo, the admin of TDU. And I'm Cyrus, the admin's daemon. Colored text means it's all about me, baby!

Whether you are a senior in the daemon world, or just starting to discover your forms, all are welcome.

--HOW TO JOIN--

Everyone is welcome at TDU! Newbies, seniors, even those who are uncertain, but curious. Nonbelievers are welcome to ask questions too.

You don't have to be on the memberlist to join, just introduce yourself and we'll say hi!

--RULES--
1. Respect each other's spirituality. (Corrections like "impossible hybrids aren't possible to have as daemons" or "you can't have two daemons" are fine. There is daemon canon!)

2. When your daemon is speaking, use colored text. LIMIT YOUR DAEMON SPEAKING TO THE TOPIC AT HAND. Don't post arguments with yourself or put up a spammy conversation between you and your daemon.

I know we love to chatter, but please don't spam. Put up daemon comments as little as possible. We'd really hate to ruin everyone's fun, but if we gotta be hard on you guys to save the thread from getting locked due to spam, we will do it.

3. And this is very very important: THIS IS NOT ROLEPLAY AND YOUR FURSONA IS NOT YOUR DAEMON. If you're here because you think this is a roleplay/fursona stuff and are content to say "MAI DAEMON IS A WINGED WOLF THAT SHOOTS LAZERS LOL" while ignoring what we're telling you, click the back button.

4. Don't flip out, scream, whine, throw a tantrum and cause drama if we question your form. It's how we show love and it really means we just want to get to know you better. After all, your daemon's form is a reflection of you as a person.

5. Introductions can only be made if the post also contributes something to the current conversation. Don't just make a post to introduce a newbie, it's spam and it crowds up the next five pages of "HI I'M SO-AND-SO".

6. No spam. If your post does not contribute anything to the current conversation, is just "hi im here" "im leaving bye," one word posts, or short messages, do not post it. All spam will be reported and if you continue to spam after being asked not to, we reserve the right to ask you to leave the thread.

7. Do not use chatspeak or textspeak. Type legibly. Chatspeak is a headache to read!

If you prove to be nothing but a drama queen, we reserve the right to ban you from the thread.

Where do I put up an analysis?
Put them up on our big sibling, The Daemon Forum. If you're not a member, now's a good time to join. They're cool, don't worry!

Before even posting it, you should read this topic about what to expect from your RA.

We have many formats to choose from, pick your flavor!

-- RA GUIDELINES --

MORE IS GOOD: One word doesn't tell us anything about you. If you feel your RA is too long, write more! More details equals more for us to go off of when analyzing you. 3 sentences each should be the bare minimum of your RA.

NO: "Patience: None."
NO: "Patience: I get frustrated easily."
YES: "Patience: I have very little patience with those who can't keep up with me intellectually. If someone is not going my pace, I will get frustrated and oftentimes just ditch the straggler in the name of progression. I live in the age of instant gratification; if something does not happen instantly I will get flustered. I leave many projects unfinished due to the rewards not instantly paying out."

WATCH OUT FOR WISHY-WASHY ANSWERS: "It depends" or "sometimes I do this, sometimes I do that" are general and very broad, and therefore are not really RA material. When does this apply? When does that apply? What conditions are needed to make this and that happen?

NO: "I'm social with some people, I'm not social with others."
YES: "With those I'm familiar with, I'm very social and it's hard to get me to shut up. With those I'm meeting for the first time, I'm very quiet and reserved."


THERE'S A CONTRADICTION IN YOUR STATEMENT...: Contradictions often give the reader the feeling you're unsettled. After all, it doesn't make much sense when you say in one question you love parties and social events and a few lines down you say that you hate people and would rather gnaw off your own foot than socialize. Another word that tends to trip people up is an evil conjunction known as "but." "But" can neutralize an entire sentence and make it contradictory. Watch your "but!"

DON'T MAKE US BELIEVERS: You ask people "Am a wolf soul?" They say no, you are not a wolf soul, you are not social enough to be a wolf soul. You know in your heart you are a wolf, so you put up an RA to shut up the naysayers and prove once and for all you are a wolf! Don't do this. Ever. It always ends up with the user pitching a fit because someone said you're a mouse soul and not a wolf and omg how can they not see you're a wolf and drama ensues. Usually if you have to put up an RA to prove you're an "insert animal here" when everyone says you don't seem like it, you're not.
