Le Cycle de la Vie

Postby Caela » Thu Feb 16, 2017 2:11 pm

Man, it feels good to be done with this! I've worked super hard on it over the past three days, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. :) I got lazy towards the end, but this is definitely a work of love anyway. :> I almost never draw humans, and I'm amazed these turned out so well!

And if any of you are wondering, yes, the timer is accurate. It's only off by 30-45 minutes. This really did take more than 12 hours!

Anyway, which of the four is your favorite? I can't decide which one I like best! Let me know what you think in the comments. c:

Did you use a mouse?
Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous! I can't imagine the effort it must take to make a piece like this. The anatomy isn't perfect, but the realistic shading and the intricate, beautifully done folds definitely make up for it. The backgrounds are simple enough not to take away from the characters, but they're also complex. I also love the frames; they give this piece a really refined, professional feel. My favorite has to be the woman representing winter on the far right.
Anyways, I hope you get a feature. Have a great day!

Oh goodness no! I have a pen-display tablet. :> My wrist would have fallen off (somehow) if I had used a mouse.
Thanks so much man! I'm glad the imperfect anatomy isn't a total deal-breaker. :) I'm normally blind to anatomy errors, so it was worrying me a bit that I can see a bunch in this but don't know how to fix them. And given that I just scribbled for the folds, I'm glad you think they turned out well. XD
I like one on the far right, too. :> I'm jealous of her hair, man

Again, thanks a bunch, and have a great day, too!

OUTSTANDING!! Balance, color, composition, symmetry, design. Great flow from panel to panel. The inlays are fantastic. I can almost feel the breeze blowing in the summer (L'ete) panel. BRAVO!!!
