I would say I'm not sure where the inspiration for this came from but
It's in the title
I've been messing around with watercolor the past few days, as well as listening to a ton of Linkin Park songs ;v;

Shadow of the Day in particular inspired me to draw this, though Iridescent also was a large factor in inspiration

First time in forever that I've drawn clouds, and the first time that's I've actually tried to draw clouds at sunset so??
Thoughts? Opinions? Critique?

it still definitely looks feature-worthy even though it's not event art!

i really like the lighting on both the character and the environment + how the clouds seem to be in less focus, making the character really stand out! plus the pretty bold colours make for a pretty scene. however, the ground/where the character is sitting looks a bit too rough imo, you could try playing around with the opacity for both the pen tool and the watercolour tool to get softer strokes. the purple also looks like it could extend a little farther out, but the dark around the edges frames the picture pretty nicely. :>

but overall great mood + composition. nice.

ahh i'm glad you think so! c:

the clouds being out of focus actually wasn't intentional. i think that happened because i drew and colored them using the watercolor brush, so they were a bit transparent to begin with, even before i added the sunset colors.
yeah, i could've done better blending on the ground. if i hadn't tried to rush that, i probably would've spent more time making it look smooth. the purple shadows on the grass also probably could've extended farther left into the frame, or at least have less saturated yellow in the lower corner
and actually, this entire piece was drawn with just the watercolor tool and soft eraser on occasion. i only used the pen tool for the initial rough sketch of nero [the character], and the layer isn't even on.
