"Me too..." Heilo whispered. "Thankyou." She turned to walk out, closing the door softly behind her. She sat down in the hallway and leaned against the wall, running her hands over her hair. What have I done... she thought.

Ash stopped and stared at her in shock, before wrapping his arms around her and burying his face in her hair.

Aelan put his head on his knees as she left, her words scuffling through his mind like a child through knee high piles of leaves. The more he thought about it, the more long undisturbed memories came free, torturing him like no physical pain could.

Heilo ran her finger down her arm, where the scarred and burnt tissue riddled her normally perfect skin. She sighed and closed her eyes, stopping herself from crying.
