Basara!

If you want to read a good historical/ fantasy manga Basara is defiantly it! That in my opinion that has a very good female lead, the characters you meet are interesting! the romance is great (if that's more your thing!) it's also a good length and is finished! If you don't mind looking at older anime style (like the sailor moon manga style-ish) I highly recommend you should read it.

Yona of the Dawn! I love the dragons, and the art is beautiful. It has an anime adaptation, which I highly recommend for anyone interested! The music is gorgeous.

Definitely Shokugeki no Soma! I tried reading other mangas, but Shokugeki no Soma was the one that got me interested the most. Heckie, it's even my favorite anime! Sure, they may have sketchy themes, but heck. The anime is good, and the manga is even better! It's not common for me to pick up a manga book before I watch the anime- but this time? I picked up a copy of Shokugeki no Soma (Food Wars), and started reading right away! It hit home for me, ever since. It was definitely a comfort item of mine (the anime and manga), during my two month suspension in my first year of highschool... Therefore, that's why it means so much to me! I'm currently collecting the manga now, I hope to get lots more for Christmas *^*

I definitely recommend reading Shokugeki no Soma, but if you're squeamish around.. those kinds of images, then I suggest you not read it ovo But, other than that, it's a really good manga to read / really excellent anime to watch!!!
