A Beginner's Guide to Making the Perfect Trade
Ok. We've all had good trades and bad trades. Hopefully this guide will lessen the number of bad trades. Just follow it, and there will be happiness on both sides.
Step 1: Before you begin, view the person's pet collection. Make sure they don't already have what you want to offer them. This is important because they may have it in a locked group (i.e. people can't make trade offers for pets in that group), and if that's the case, you won't see it when you're making the trade.
Step 2: Start the trade. Be sure to follow the other player's rules if they have any, or they'll most likely cancel the trade!
Step 3: Choose the pet(s) you want from them. Make sure you don't choose too many pets, or else the other person will feel overwhelmed or like you're begging. Also, if their groups aren't locked, make sure that the pets you have chosen are only from their trades group, if they have one.
Step 4: Choose the pet(s) you want to offer them. You have to offer pets or else it will be perceived as begging (unless you're asking for pets from an adoption center or a free trades group). Offer a similar amount of pets, and don't offer common pets for rare ones (or vice versa, as you don't want to be ripped off). Try to only offer monthly or special pets, not warrior cats or 2nd gens.
Step 5: Review your trade to make sure that it's what you want.
Step 6: Write them a thoughtful little message saying thank you, as it's always good to be polite. Then send the trade!
If all goes well, both Smoothiers will have a new pet or two (or more)!
Please note: Sometimes good trades take some editing on both sides, so that both people have exactly what they want.
