the special adopts used to be spiders and owls and we wouldnt get them every month..i just remembered this.

That used to always excite me to see Malk pets available! Especially the Malk wolves, horses, and foxes. I always thought they were the best. It's strange to think that there hasn't been any new Malk designs with those since 2013.

I can't believe I forgot about that one! I have it but it slipped my mind, I'm just hoping we could get more of the rest, especially the wolves ^^

Totally unimportant random fun facts that have absolutely no bearing on anything:

I was going through my pets and I came across this guy in this group. It's Fiery Gatoh's 2009 staff pet.

Original adoption on November 2 with an initial name of "FieGatDesLon". My other staff pet original adoptions were on November 1 with initial names of "CrazyStaffCollab". (I... uh... kinda gave my pets "last names" that were just very squished and truncated English words and proper nouns put together. LOL) What's up with those discrepancies?

Took a while for it to click... I think "FieGatDesLon" came from "Fiery Gatoh design lone". I vaguely remembered that Fiery Gatoh's outcome in 2009 was released separately and delayed because Tess forgot to include it. So I went hunting and yep my memory didn't fail me! (do I link the thread... nah lol the steps I took: advanced search > "november" first posts only in CS discussion > november 2009 discussion thread > search in thread for "fiery")

Why do I still remember things like this (albeit with prompting)

The other interesting thing is that the adoption limit was 1 for Fiery's outcome. Adoption limit on the main litter (10 outcomes since Fiery's was forgotten) was 14. Rereleases have probably fixed the imbalance by now

Similar to what happened last St. Patrick's Day where they forgot to include Nick's golden chicken with the others, so the golden chicken was added later and adoptable separately

I had no clue on the actual value of pets back then, but it was also nice just to do things like this without trading +100000000 '09 rares for something.
It's insane to think that these trades are that old.

This makes me think of the time when we didn't have the Rename pets mode. I remember myself sitting in front of my slow pc for hours and hours to name every single pet (I was a teenager so I also added either hearts or stars to all names of my pets).

I also remember the incident with Fiery's outcome. And oh my I was so in love with Shima.Luans outcome, I wish she or he had become an official artist. The Shima Longtail is still quite popular.

Shima was an official artist in 2009 and 2010 and made numerous pet litters for the site. Some of the more well-known designs would be the Dark Pink Shima bwolf, Wolf PPS, Good & Evil PPS, Ghost cat, Spiderwing bwolf, or the zodiacs, as some examples^^
They're also listed on the team page as a former artist. (Guest artists have a separate list.)
