I'm learning French too but I only know a few Japanese words. I recommend using this website https://www.duolingo.com/.

はじめまして。どぞよろしく!!
If you haven't started already, I would highly recommend learning hiragana for Japanese!
This should help: https://www.tofugu.com/japanese/learn-hiragana/

I'm learning Japanese as well. I'm using this textbook called "Genki I" to learn grammar, and a website called WaniKani to learn kanji.

Hey! I'm actually, coincidentally, learning these languages too!
I use Memrise and Duolingo.
Those are some free, online sites that work effectively- I use both. Memrise does have a premium feature that requires purchase, but it doesn't require it to access lessons, or other needed things to learn. Duolingo is fully free. I also use busuu, but busuu requires you to purchase a premium account to access all of the lessons- but it does offer a few free lessons from every skill it has. busuu also has questions that require you to write only in the language you are learning- and those are sent to native/professional speakers of the language you're learning, so they can revise it and help you learn, which is useful. Good luck!

noun \ so·liv·a·gant \ sōˈlivəgənt \
; a solitary wanderer
