Reporting Posts.

Postby Lady » Fri Jul 18, 2008 7:47 pm

Okay all, I just wanted to drop in and explain how to report or "flag" a post on the board.

Please remember:
The rules of the site and forum can be found here: http://www.chickensmoothie.com/help ...As well as many answers to questions you may have if you are new. Please read through the help section of the site anytime you have a question.
First please understand what the purpose of reporting a post is for. Reporting is a simple way for common users to alert the moderators and admins to things that are insulting, rude, or spam.

To report a post, please look to the top line above that post. It is located between the topic title and the users' name. The link for reporting is an image, and it looks like this:
    Image
You should report a post if:
Someone is breaking a rule on the site or forum.
Someone is insulting other users and/or just generally being a jerk.
    The post is spam.
If you don't know what counts as spam, please read this topic:
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=156584#p4325153

When the box comes up with why this post is being reported, try and explain yourself--don't leave the text area blank. If we don't understand why you are reporting the post, how do we know you didn't just accidentally click the button?

While not every reported post will be edited or deleted, it is still helpful if users take the time to point out things that we may have otherwise overlooked.

So, I hope everyone is willing to keep this board a happy and wonderful place. And do remember that children view this site quite often, so try and keep everything PG-13!

Feel free to ask any questions about this board feature here.
Any posting that does not go along with this topic will be pruned, to keep it completely informational.

Hm... If we happen to see a post that is in the wrong forum should we use the flagging feature for that too?

You can, but we (mods/admins) are pretty good at noticing those when we're scanning through the forums everyday. If you want to, you can point it out by flagging it and letting us know. :)

So...does that mean that we, as regular users, can flag/report the forums, but only admins can delete them? Sorry for that, I'm rather inquisitive. :?
Hem hem. I'm back. ^^

Yes, only admins and mods can delete posts and whole topics.

As a regular user you can only delete your own posts or your own topic, if no one has replied.

ïf someone makes a somewhat mature topic (say maybe teen-rated) and has no warnings, no foul words, but still a little much for younger auidiences, should we flag the topic/post?

If you thin, it's too much you can report that post and write, why you reported it. So we can find it easily and decide, if it's needed to delete/lock it or warn the user.

Um sorry about this, I have been hoping to PM a mod about it but I guess I will ask about it here first ^^

May I ask - what if a user has been using other people's pets in trading, or as display in their signature? They say to others that they are just "copying the code" and "now it's theirs", and that the trading center won't work for them :?:
dead account.. :3 hello RL...
